Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

Good grief, Sophie! You’re picking up some dumb cat tricks……..

Sophie could be a Spaz sometimes long before the cats ever came along
I would love to see their reaction to this if they were watching

Please no. We don’t need Sophie to be eaten

Oooh – the shiny thing. Get the shiny thing … where’d it go? Bluenebottle: this is something both cats and dogs chase. I’m sure Hobo and Cheese would have a ball chasing this with Sophie.
Good laugh.

I’ve seen dogs get a good workout chasing a lazer pointer dot. I’ve also seen cats ignore the same type of dot.

That’s because kittens are intrigued, but adult cats have figured out – it looks interesting, but it smells like… nothing.

Shades of people teasing the penguins at the Denver Zoo by refecting light off wristwatches into the walls of their pen

With a laser pointer, I was able to get the cat 4 feet high on the wall….

In panel 3 what is the “ow”? she’s stepping on? Is that a hat?
Oh, and my 12 year old cat will chase the laser pointer, but then so would my children, so long as you do it right ;)

Is any one else having a problem with the strips not opening?

I know, I know! The sad thing is this wasn’t intentionally Dr. Who-ish.

Don’t laugh. We got a laser pointer when Sophie was a puppy. Had to ditch it. Used it for one day and she spent the next three days scouring the house for the dot. I thought I had ruined my dog.

you hid her fave new toy! That is funny. But I have seen grown dogs get upset when they can’t find their fave stuffed toy or ball.
