Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

Oh, the horror of being a comic strip baby. You never get to grow up, even to talking age! At least Sophie can understand him…

^ I’m sure glad you opened up about that. The ambivalence was killing me.

Why are you back if you hate them so much?

I love Doug’s vocabulary .,,, it’s great that only Sophie understands Panels 1 & 3 are great. Hhmmm, maybe he’s warming up for another musical session.

Hee. That was funnier than my strip.

He might be. Actually writing an opening musical number for a DeD pilot. I am tone deaf and as un-musical as a dried up mollusk, and yet Sophie just wants to sing and rock ‘n’ roll.

Oh, and the kitties will be around from time to time.

oldfart, I Like You ;o) sarcasm without the disdain
Brian, your avatar, the photo of Sophie smiling, it’s a perfect fit to the dog in the cartoon. You’ve captured her essence.

Well thank God for that, Brian. The more the merrier. I think the kitties add an interesting dynamic to the family. And actually the 4-some works really well. (Better than Normie, but it is your strip, fer sure). Love the nutbar squirrels too.
I love your strip. You rock – tone deaf or not.

Great strip again, WITHOUT THE KITTIES. Sorry you feel the need to put them in from time to time. The lure of this strip was the baby and the dog. Occasionally, the squirrels were and are funny for the strip. But, I still say if someone wants cats, look at Garfield.

Well Sophie it actually feels worse than it looks.
.
BTW Brian I like the addition of the cats and the others introduced since the move. I just wish others would allow you your creativity without hassle.
