Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

Yes, they should know that a) gravity doesn’t pull up and b) Mars exerts less gravitational force than Earth

A friend of mine years ago liked to ‘spin’ the family cat by laying it on its side on the kitchen floor and putting his fingers behind its neck (I do NOT advocate this kind of treatment!!) Poor cat couldn’t walk straight for five minutes…….

I don’t think he felt too good either. Seems a bit cruel!

Our 3 girls wouldn’t like this one bit but I’m not so sure about the boys, we’re not sure those two are even from this planet

Good to see the cats get some grief for once. “Curiosity” might have killed the cat.

kimmyglam: If u don’t like the strip, stop reading it. And in particular, stop telling the artist what to do.

Hobo & Cheese don’t look too rattled; with all Doug’s exertions they sorta landed on their feet. Love those skinny arms.

@JK1
I concur.

I love the cats….and the freedom for the artist/writer to do anything he wants to do in his strip.

Cats are funnier than dogs. Both do “stupid” things but react differently.
When a dog does something stupid, he just gets up and continues on to enjoy himself. He has no ego to maintain.
When a cat does something stupid, he tries to salvage his dignity by acting like that either didn’t happen or he had planned it all along. No matter what happens, a cat must maintain his cool at all times.

I once had a cat that thought a spin on the linoleum was awesome. Would drop in front of you and roll over, conventional belly rub would get attack cat, but a little spin and cat bowling she liked. Odd critter, loved fetch with little nerf golfballs, hair tie thief too.
