Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

Stupid cats……

In my childhood, uh, “experiments”, they always landed on their feet! (And yes, they always walked away unharmed…)

Our cats always seem to land underfoot, at least in the kitchen.

I hope they land on their heads… and it silences them for a few days… more Sophie… less gopher clones…

Please, please, please, Brian – give those limp little kittens some whiskers … whiskers allow a cat to gauge width. Love their klingon ability to hang in there (despite some nasty comments from cat hating people).
Whiskers, whiskers, whiskers.

I haven’t had cats since I was a kid, but am mostly a “dog person”, at one time having 7 dogs because I couldn’t bear to part with the 4 puppies we had.
Yet………………..I really enjoy these 2 kittens. They are cute and funny and I hope they stay in the strip with Sophie and Doug.
But, in the final analysis? It’s Brian Anderson’s strip and whatever goes on in the strip is ultimately HIS decision!
That’s the way it should be.
Keep up the good work, Brian!

The strange thing is that they don’t seem to learn. Perhaps Doug can give them a hand.
If he throws a tidbit I bet they don’t even touch the floor till they are on top of the tidbit.

I, too, like the cats. They provide a fresh angle for humor … not to mention some memorable lines in their distinctive speaking styles.
Keep it up, Brian.

If cats always land on their feet and toast always lands butter side down, what happens when you staple a piece of toast butter-side up on a cats back?

Quite right. … Just sitting here, waiting for the Doug/Sophie/kitten interactions.
.
whiskers would be nice. More cat like. Maybe they will grow into their whiskers?
.
As to always landing on their feet. (and that nasty butter on bread) I have seen slow motion video of cats being dropped. They twist in mid fall. (btw – their landing pad was cushions).
.
ever hear of the 6th floor theory? Cats falling from the 6th floor or higher have a better chance on survival than those that fall between the 2nd to 5th floors. Case in point – a number of years ago, a car chasing kitten went after a car when she was on a 9th floor balcony. She survived. The car escaped. And after returning from a longer than anticipated stay at the vet – her human moved the kitten to her parents farm. (it did happen – just a few blocks from where I live).
.
Imagine that. A kitten that chases cars!
