   I think dogs are not really aware of their tails at all….sort of a ‘sinister hand’ thing going on. That’s why they try chasing them when they discover something moving behind them.

   Your tail gave you away Sophie! Even happens in deep deep snow, my sis-in-law has a dog rescued from Texas, brought her back here to Canada, experienced snow for the first time was terrified! She is only a chihuahua mix and the snow covered her completely only her tail showed where
   she was!
