Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

Even when they’re ten years old, they’ll suddenly turn into playful kittens when you least expect it!

I don’t mind telling you … I’m getting highly annoyed at this high level lingo from supposedly cute kittens. Even when they’re playful you have them using this language. In the words of Charles Schultz … AAAAAAAARGH!

Brian, I’ve been following CatGate since you introduced the kitties and I have to beg you not to move them to the back burner and forget about them
I’ve followed you since the sherpa days and you have always managed the rare mix of cute, funny and weird at just the right levels to keep this comic great
I have trouble getting my wife interested in very many comics, and DED with the kittens is the first series I’ve ever gotten her to read on a daily basis
As for the cat hating Trolls advocating violence against your cats and threatening to drop the strip, ignore them
My Dad had a successful small business and he believed that there were certain types of people he really didn’t want as a customer

Yes, cats act like they’re superior to dogs and even people. I grew up in a home where we always had cats. I understand the love. Now I’m more of a dog person. I still like cats and see their humor in this comic. But Sophie wins the prize in my world!

Oh yeah, we have two dogs in our house. . . Lulu Belle and Tinkerbelle (Lulu and Tink). If I ever get another dog, HER name will be SOPHIE!

I think the cats are a great addition and I love the way they talk.

I know what “vociferate” means, but I have never seen or heard it before. Who educated these cats?

That’s kind of the fun part. I don’t know why, but this is just how I picture them talking. It’s weird even to me.

A baby, a puppy, a new house and two kittens? Are these people gluttons for punishment, or what?

Our three Chihuahuas run the house and us, cats have all passed on, but our Siamese was so bright. Bet she thought in $1.00 words too.
