Room enough for everyone, just slide in between them Sophie

The cats are all allowed on the bed here, but the St. Bernard is just too big for that

Our youngest cat has had a special bond with the dog since day one in the house and he has no problem at all sharing the dog bed

    They look adorable together

if you can get them close to the water introduce them to the Lake Monster… but set the meeting up first by talking about how delightful and delicious they both are…

My dear departed kitty slept on any dog bed he wanted, and not one of the 3 dogs we had during his tenure ever challenged him. Of course, we had more than enough dog beds – and couches – for everyone to find a comfy sleep spot, but the cat always had dibs.

Sophie is a gentle and easily bullied dog if drawn true. The owners need to start a bit of line drawing themselves with the kittens or they are going to be holy terrors to everyone, Doug and his parents included, in a few more months.
Cat’s don’t raise themselves or socialize themselves, a responsible pet owner makes sure they both understand the boundaries and respect them.
I’ve shared my life with more cats and dogs(usually at the same time) than I can easily recall and cats are fully trainable with only a little effort.
They probably won’t play fetch, although I’ve had one who loved to, but they do understand boundaries and will once you spend the effort into training, respect them. They’ll also be a lot happier once trained.

So, the kittens are better educated than the dog. It fits.

I think the message here is that cats are devious con artists and lovable, accepting pups are easy marks.

I’m getting the message that this strip is on its way to not being funny ever again.

Sophie, get a Legal Beagle to oust those interlopers. Legalese is right up their alley.
