Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

Well this is kinda sad…even if the older dog thinks he’s a cat…

As I steel myself for the end of “Cul de Sac” and the possible end of “Cow and Boy”, I was just wondering if the house-sale storyline means anything for the survival of “Dog Eat Doug”. Brian? Anyone?

No, it just means new and different adventures for Doug & Sophie.

I hope you’re right. I’m getting tired of watching excellent cartoons die while zombies like “Peanuts” endure.

I liked Peanuts growing up, and I also enjoy rereading the classic strips now. I’ve got the hard cover collection up to 1970. There are plenty of kids out there who’ll get to see Peanuts for the first time, too. We can do without Family Circus though – and the now watered-down Dennis the Menace.

This is per Brian a week or two back. See his blog post re: “Dog Eat Doug Re-boot.” He and his family are moving in real life so he thought his characters should do the same. http://alphacomedy.com/user/profile_post/38.html

He’s not such a wise dog after all.

With all that hair in his eyes….. probably can’t see that Sophie is a puppy. Only knows her cat-like tendencies. You know…. talks alllllll the time.
