    Moving with small children means never turning your back, because they can unpack and mess up in 10 minutes what it took you an hour to do.
    We moved just last Dec. and my hubby went on ahead while I finished packign up the household before following with the kids. My 2 y.o. son discovered the big bag of packing peanuts, and in less time that it took me to get from the kitchen to the living room, dumped all 12 square feet of them out of the living room floor. Stryofoam is more static-clingy than cat hair rubbed with a latex ballon when you’re trying to sweep it up (cause it clogged the hoover in 10 seconds flat.) Total clean up time 4 hours.
    And then there was the box of books that I had packed but wanted to find something light to fill out the box that he and his sister oh so helpfully decided needed to be “put away”.
    Doug already covered improving the walls, though mine choose the acrylic paints on the top shelf in the closet accessable with all those nice boxes to climb.

    @Brian Anderson

    I’m guessing that you typed 2 exclamation points and didn’t put in any spaces in between. That’s a shortcut for embedding a link (if you had a URL in between, I believe there would be an actual link there, instead of 2 little boxes with red “X’s” in them or blue question marks, depending on your computer.)
    The same thing happened to me, by mistake. I was mystified, until x_Tech explained it to me. x_Tech’s Formatting Guide on CD2008/06/26 (16 comments down)

    BTW, I love this story arc!! Very funny and cute. Love this strip!!!

    oh you poor dear. (trying hard not to laugh out loud)
    love the description of the styro peanuts. Reminded me of cello wrap that has decided to be clingy.

    The hoover was fixed, but it’s never been the same since….

    It was awful, but at least now I’m able to laugh at the memory of the insult added to the injury: he was trying to be helpful by picking them up and putting them in the bag, but they just clung to him. As did the ones that had been put back in the bag. He looked like an abominal snow man. At the time o/c all I was thinking about was “we’re not going to have time for dinner and at this rate we won’t be ready to load tomorrow before midnight!”
