Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

crawling away won’t do it, doug.

Sophie may officially be a “carnivore;” but, she is actually an omnivore since she eats almost everything that Doug eats in addition to her own dog food.
Sophie sends telepathic thoughts to Doug; but, the baby boy doesn’t even communicate with Sophie by talking or thinking.
Sophie is really a cruel dog in the fact that she gets him into trouble and is mentally abusive, too.
But, Doug’s parents don’t know that.
If Sophie talked in English like the dog Buckles does in the comic strip of the same name, she would get into lots of trouble and might even be taken to the dog pound.

Fritzoid - He’s been better today, this is about the only nutty one I’ve seen.
So far.

True, true. On occasion he can be innocuous, and once in a blue moon he can actually add to a conversation. But we must remain vigilant.

Those with the screen names of fritzoid, Doctor Toon, and some others seem to have some self-esteem problems.
They think they have to make fun of other people.
fritzoid said, 16 days ago
I’ve told you precisely why I give you such a hard time, JAD. I must be cruel, only to be kind.
…But heaven hath pleased it so,
To punish me with this and this with me,
That I must be their scourge and minister.

I read Buckles too. I wish all of my comics were on one site, this one since you can comment here. But I read them from about 5 different sites.
