Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

If Doug’s over 6 months of age, he should be vaccinated against tetanus but I’m not sure about Sophie…I guess she’s lucky it isn’t rabies he’s carrying.

Sophie has too much halloween on her mind.

They really don’t have to worry about the Northern long-eared bat.
It only eats insects; therefore it is unlikely that it could give a human or a dog tetanus.
Interesting that a puppy knows so much.

Age-wise (not comic strip-wise), the puppy, Sophie, has never had a Halloween experience yet.
Yes, I know that this is a comic strip. In the “Marvin” comic strip, the baby and the dog can talk to each other.
So, you hateful smart-alecks can just ignore what I post if you don’t like my comments.

Joe Allen Doty - Just keep being yourself my friend. You are right. If somebody dislikes what somebody else posts, they can move along and disregard what is posted.

In the “B.C”,“Wizard of Id”, and “Dog Eat Doug” strips anything from the 21st Century AD can show up in them.

Is that your phrase of the day?
Love Sophie’s vampire look in the second panel.
fritzoid said, 24 days ago
It’s more like a Public Service Announcement, in case anyone gets confused.
Of course, the one thing that can NEVER show up in ANY strip is a Banjo Man being tied down, because IT CAN’T BE DONE!!!

The Vampire myths and legends got started when people got bitten by baths with rabies.
Real vampires such souls, not blood.
Vampire bats in South America drink blood but getting bitten by one will not make you a vampire. It won’t hurt too bad either, Plus, they bite your toes, not your neck.

There are no “real” vampires.
Vampire legends have arisen in many cultures where there are no native bats, blood-drinking or otherwise. The vampire bat got its name because its diet was shared with the vampires of legend, not the other way around.

Just remember, you can’t kill them, they’re already dead.
The stake is to keep them in the box.

Reality check! What a bat can give you is rabies. They carry it, we catch it!
