Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

Mom and Dad should just put a frame around it.
Good one, Cleo.

A waste of perfectly good blueberries which should’ve gone into my pancakes.

Very generous of Doug to share his blueberries with Sophie. Mind you, mom’s not going to think so.

But, Jackson Pollock laid a canvas on the floor and dropped and or splatter paint on it.
Pollock’s works are in the category of “non-objective art” because there is nothing recognizable in them.
If someone can recognize at least one thing in a work of art, although that thing might be distorted, the art work is in the category of “abstract art.
I had a declared minor in art in college and I was even state certified to teach it, which I did, too.
Many of artists who were famous for their non-objective and/or abstract art usually started out drawing and painting realistic art works.
Sophie is “talking” while she licks the blueberries on the wall.

You’re right, Joe Allen Doty. This strip misses the mark completely, because Pollock placed his canvasses on the floor while working on them, not on the wall! Even Labrador puppies and babies know THAT!
It’s appalling that cartoonists try to pass such shoddy workmanship off on the public. I mean, it’s one thing to ask the audience to suspend disbelief, but giving us an egregious error like this and expecting us to let it slide by? This Anderson guy has some nerve!

Personally, I think that it looks more like a work of Dr. Rorshach.

I sense a nice touch of sarcasim in the air……
Doug does walls. For ceilings, dial 1-800-mike-angelo.
For wall cleaning, call Sophie.
