Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

My dogs are so nervous when it comes to going to the vets that they try to make a break for an escape every chance they get.

My cats on the other hand are braver, just as long as they can come out of the cage and claw the vet to death.

I love that eye in the third panel! Another laugh out loud.

Bichon Frese dogs have to get the hair pulled out of their ears every couple of months. Mine hated it and fought getting in the car, until I started praising him and rewarding him with a liver treat just before and just after the pulling from each ear. Now you’d swear he loves the process! Eager to get on the table, wags all over and licks the vet’s hands, and even leans forward for the forceps..

The vet’s comment in the third pannel was an eye-opener - an awakening if you will.

Sophie moves like a cat. Speaking of which, it’s Julie Newmar’s birthday today.

I really like how this strip is seen from the perspective of Doug and Sophie.
The way that adults are always either off panel or cropped below the head is a great touch.

DragonPowered,
OK, when you spell it like that, I see it… Clever; though I find it a little awkward to pronounce…
