They are ALL past their season…
    if they ever had one.

Well, you could say they were all well seasoned….
    but somebody botched the job.

Not a pinch of sugar or spice in the lot of ‘em….
though I’m sure all of them have naturally salt and pepper hair.

I see Ma’s been hitting the clairol again.
    Sometimes we see her grey.

Mornin’ Leaky, and X and 2Old and Cap’n….
and the rest of you eventually.

No word from Marg…. I think she lost sharp implement privileges
in that incident with Big Molly….

It’s hard to address envelopes with a crayon.

Love the bulletin board. “Donate a light bulb to the homeless,.” Now there’s a useful and welcome thing. And as usual she’ll be taking her big purse to the Pile High Buffet.
BTW, if Ma’s season is “hurricane,” surely somewhere south of Burl’s beltline would be the “Roaring Forties.” (Or would that be the Roaring Farties?)

At least the speech balloons are all pointed in a generally correct direction today.

It seems fitting that a blowhard like Burl would come up with a response like hurricane.

The light bulbs are the ones they had a while so they don’t know if they work or not.. Not that they paid for them anyway, Burl gets them from the storage where he works.

Verl’s shirt says it all for me ..

Looks like they are going to either buy out the bakery isle at the store or have company over to eat all that junk…

Burl’s season would be high winds followed by hail. lol

Verl doesn’t own any pastels. I am trying to picture pastels on her, and goodness it is a very bad picture.

I think Burl’s response may have a double meaning, hurricane/hurrycane (as advertised on TV), he is not one to let a good metaphor slip by.

Everyone wants to look her best, especially we gals. I emphasize with Verla (settling for Jerry). I remember a co-worker who stated (after I had just updated my hair color – back in the day when it was naturally a mousey blond) that she thought she’d look better as a blond. Like Verla and Joy, the FIRST thing she needed was to work on her weight. At least I DO fix it when I notice I’ve gained too much.

The heaviest I was (other than when having the kids) was around daughter’s 2nd wedding in 2002. I was 166; he was not coloring his hair then either.
