Julie Larson began writing The Dinette Set comic in 1990, then called Suburban Torture, offering a satire on middle class culture. The Dinette Set became syndicated in 1997. When asked where Julie gets all of her ideas, she admits there is only one way to write a daily comic: write about what you know. "I make no bones about who’s really talking in The Dinette Set," says Julie, who is writer, director and cast of The Dinette Set. "If we can’t make fun of ourselves, who will?"

There’s an exception to every finding, Burl, and it’s not you.

Looking straight at Burl, who proves the theorem intuitively, without calculation. He doesn’t resemble the Lane Giant, he becomes it.
And by the way, Joy, I’ll settle for eating this doughnut this time, but don’t ever, EVER run out of Ho Ho’s again, y’hear?
Dear Friends, I had the great pleasure of hearing and meeting Justice Sonia Sotomayor Tuesday night. I was enormously impressed and I wish that I could have brought along both of my grand daughters. Hers is a compelling story and should inspire every young woman in America. Just had to tell you.

The thing that she stressed most of all, after thanking her mother and abuelita for their guidance, love and support, was discipline and persistence in pursuing one’s dream.
I played the cornet—badly—in HS band and have wanted to renew my music ever since. I found an inexpensive Toricelli trumpet on Craig’s List and I am determined to learn how to play it!

Even the drapes are looking chubby….
Maybe it’s from absorbing all the cracker and cookie dust, greasy fumes, etc….

As often happens, I noticed the (out of place “find it” before I saw the request for it. I’m sure these people do not know or even attempt ANY exercise. My man works so much that he burns most excess energy (still a nice round belly sometimes but his muscular arms and legs have no extra fat.
I’ve put on some extra weight right now while clearing out my refrigerator but I know it will not be difficult to lose (even with 125 BMI now). I’ll start back with weights today (and go to Post Office to retrieve a month of junk mail). I only did strider and most of the Yoga yesterday. I may take a class for the latter (especially to learn how to accomplish some of the poses). I can’t get my crossed legs to go flat enough to sit up really straight.

At least you can cross your legs. I’d like to see Burl or Joy do that. The most exercise they do is lift their arms to down the junk they eat. Oh and an occasional jaunt to the store when they run out.

@DAZZ
Wow, Dazz… your BMI is 125?!?!?! For a woman of average height (say 5 ft. 7in), you would need to weigh 800 pounds to have a BMI of 125!!!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
While I am speaking in jest, the above is true if you use a standard BMI calculator. I do realize you simply had a typographical mistake. I presume you mean you are 125 lb right now.

Hummmm…. On the front page of the LIFESTYLES magazine JOY is holding…. Isn’t that BURL in the picture…. ? ? ?
imnormal said, 4 months ago
That is becaus ethey don’t need to exercise, they are satisfied with their body, all 300 lbs of it. What about women, i think Joy can out eat Burl anyday. Where has Jerry been lately, he is a good eater if it is free.
