Julie Larson began writing The Dinette Set comic in 1990, then called Suburban Torture, offering a satire on middle class culture. The Dinette Set became syndicated in 1997. When asked where Julie gets all of her ideas, she admits there is only one way to write a daily comic: write about what you know. "I make no bones about who’s really talking in The Dinette Set," says Julie, who is writer, director and cast of The Dinette Set. "If we can’t make fun of ourselves, who will?"

These people have done post-doc work in childish and immature. Do we think that Burl sat in the corner and cried because of it? Do we think that his “employees” down at CUSI give a sh*t?

to send a cake all that way, just so Burl can have two cakes today….
and to say “wonderful father, too….”
It would bring a tear to my eye… if I thought Patty knew anything about it.
Joy knows if there isn’t an extra cake, no one will get any but Piggy….um… I mean Burl.
But Baby Burl deserves a whole cake… after what he has to put up with at work…
all that sitting is just ruining his back….
why he can barely walk over to the TV and back any more…

Good thing Joy decided not to bring them till tomorrow,
so she could see what the guys did for him first.
Now she knows they don’t deserve them….

I thought the GBWOF was worn out, finally…
Maybe Joy actually washed it….
in any case she was apparently saving it for a very special occasion, like her hero’s birthday….
Now a few rinsings in between wearings will keep it fresh for Christmas….

Wonder why Patty and John didn’t stop by for his birthday? All the friends missed it, Dale, Marge, Maw, Jerry, but at least Timmy was spared the ordeal.

Yes, the poor baby!
I had no drink with dinner last night and fell asleep at bedtime without ….. anything else too. After I return home (in such a brief time ;-( ), I will be starting Dean Ornish’s “Reversing Heart Desease” diet. Not only vegetatian, but no chocolate! no egg yolks! but I’ll try it for at least a year. – and I can! (I HAVE will power, I just like to indulge myself). At least it does not remove the most important pleasure in my life (even if that is restricted to trips here). ;-D

I got one cupcake for my birthday, but 7 cards from friends. Those were more important! Burl wouldn’t cross the street to do ANYTHING for his neighbors (friends?) so you get what you give. I see Joy found the GBwOF under the bed.
