Julie Larson began writing The Dinette Set comic in 1990, then called Suburban Torture, offering a satire on middle class culture. The Dinette Set became syndicated in 1997. When asked where Julie gets all of her ideas, she admits there is only one way to write a daily comic: write about what you know. "I make no bones about who’s really talking in The Dinette Set," says Julie, who is writer, director and cast of The Dinette Set. "If we can’t make fun of ourselves, who will?"

Dale has forgotten the Cardinal Rule of community property: What’s yours is mine and what’s mine is mine. Dale, there will be consequences, trust me.

Joy has a “To Doo” list…. does that mean a whole lot of … well, you know.
“Try” to get of he phone…. I need that on my list…
“Make brownies”….
Joy’s recipe:
I pkg Sara Lee Brownies
1) Thaw brownies.
2) Cut in squares
3) Serve.
For step 2, she has to call Marlene for help. She can’t figure out how far apart to make the cuts.

It’s easy to catch a thief when you’ve got a little snitch like Timmy around.

No honor among morons.
.
@SS: Leaky still “on the mend”? Maybe you can use that bill you found on the floor under Dale as the start of Marg’s “welcome back” fund.
BTW: YOU reach under Dale’s chair to snag it.

Not seeing much humor, or consistency in the characters in this one. Dale would never throw paper money down for Timmy: a nickel would be his idea of big money for the kid. And Burl would be trying to distract Timmy and Dale, so he could swipe the buck, or move it, to swipe later if no one noticed.

I have a little trouble with that in the Breakfast Bar recipe that I gave over at BS; I bake them in a 9×9 pan and have lately cut in 16 squares, but they never turn out “exactly” even.
.
This morning I’ve been dipping the candied orange peel slices in chocolate and just stopped for a break. They dried on top of more sugar last night so I have to brush off the extra bits of chocolate, before I dip each slice and try to place each just enuf apart on another cookie sheet. Had to stop and come see more comments.

Anyone have ideas on when Marge and Leaky will be back? And what are we doing for Dry’s birthday tomorrow?

And talk about calling someone when you shouldn’t need help; back in my married days (eons ago) the wife of one of my X’s friends called me to help her make jello (from a package). It IS as simple as boiling water after all ;-D

Yes, The chocolate I used is Lindt 85% (so dark that most kids don’t like it – thought of giving some without any to neighbors) I expect ALL my friends to like the healthy yummy stuff!!
