Julie Larson began writing The Dinette Set comic in 1990, then called Suburban Torture, offering a satire on middle class culture. The Dinette Set became syndicated in 1997. When asked where Julie gets all of her ideas, she admits there is only one way to write a daily comic: write about what you know. "I make no bones about who’s really talking in The Dinette Set," says Julie, who is writer, director and cast of The Dinette Set. "If we can’t make fun of ourselves, who will?"

Am I really here before anyone? Just stayed up catching up on email. This avatar of my HS grad photo will not stay up (tho’ my lover really likes it). I prefer our real current images! And people VS native americans? I think Joy and Burl are too overwhelmed by the collapse of Hostess!

On a trip once just after crossing into New Mexico, we stopped at an information center to get, well information. I heard a woman ask if she was supposed to show her passport here.

Does Patty wake up screaming in the night, at the possibility of turning into her parents?

I may be wrong—and often am—but I seem to remember that the Cherokee referred to themselves as “The People.” The Anasazi built the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde, not the Cherokee, but they were “people” as well.
Willful ignorance is a dangerous thing, particularly when it relates to people and even animals. The death of respect is directly related.
This is funny in Crustwood but never in real life. Yesterday we saw a lack of curiosity about the “why” of what we are and today we see a similar lack about the “who.” Julie is holding a mirror right up to our own faces.

I will miss Raspberry Zingers a lot. Once or twice a year for a Lemon Fried Pie. Past that not so much anymore….no kids in house….no lunch snacks.

Thanks, but 4 years after that photo I married my crazy Cuban just to get out of the house; I didn’t really get that confidence until after my divorce – when I went to work.

the question is not as stupid as the lady that wanted to know why they put the deer crossing signs on busy street they should be on streets with less traffic so the deer will be safer
