Julie Larson began writing The Dinette Set comic in 1990, then called Suburban Torture, offering a satire on middle class culture. The Dinette Set became syndicated in 1997. When asked where Julie gets all of her ideas, she admits there is only one way to write a daily comic: write about what you know. "I make no bones about who’s really talking in The Dinette Set," says Julie, who is writer, director and cast of The Dinette Set. "If we can’t make fun of ourselves, who will?"

The Papa Walnuts place doesn’t have any chefs at all.
But, Stouffer’s used to be a restaurant chain.
Considering how every item (not the food) looks in a better version of this comic on another website. Joy is probably handing Patty a plastic fork.
So, all of the items on the table are disposable except for the salt and pepper shakers, the ketchup and sauce bottles, the bread basket and the cracker basket. The bus person probably removes the listed items and then dumps everything else on the table in the trash.
Some time ago, there was a Food Network show which had a restaurant that served only brand-name TV dinners.
This place might have permission from the Nestlé Corporation to use “Stouffer’s” in its name.

Stuff some food in your purse too. We don’t want to cook tomorrow.
