Julie Larson began writing The Dinette Set comic in 1990, then called Suburban Torture, offering a satire on middle class culture. The Dinette Set became syndicated in 1997. When asked where Julie gets all of her ideas, she admits there is only one way to write a daily comic: write about what you know. "I make no bones about who’s really talking in The Dinette Set," says Julie, who is writer, director and cast of The Dinette Set. "If we can’t make fun of ourselves, who will?"

And just who said life would be fair?
It’s in the top of the rounded window, of course.

There are handicaps and then there are handicaps…

Burl and Joy Penny are only handicapped because they choose to be clueless on purpose.
A “keystone” is the stone at the top of an arch, either over a window or an entrance. There is a completely visible keystone on the windown closer to the steps; but, a partial view of the keystone on the other window is behind the power lift.

My wife and I just got back from DC. She has mobility issues and it always interesting the circuitous routes that handicap entrances can lead you through.

I saw a guy park in a disabled parking space and run into a grocery store.
Left a not under his windshield wiper that said:
‘These spaces are provided for the physically disabled.’
Joe Allen Doty said, 19 days ago
Did that guy have a Handicap Parking Permit card hanging from his rear view mirror?
Some handicapped people can run some days and barely walk others.
I don’t own a vehicle; but, I use a cane most of the time when I walk outside of the apartment. Oh, sometimes, I need to use the cane in the apartment.
I do have a photo ID card from the local bus company which states I am disabled and I can ride regular busses for free now.

No rails on that lift? And no apparent way to get from it to the porch between the columns? It looks like it is sitting in the middle of the yard. What does it do, fling them onto the porch?
