I heard that when the movie, Joan, Messenger of God, opened up, many patrons wondered why it couldn’t have a happy ending.
As in, why did they have Joan of Arc burned at the stake… why couldn’t she get away at the end?
Evidently, they didn’t realize it was a true story.
(Apparently, there’s some debate about that.)
They also didn’t understand where it was supposed to be taking place.

There is a big difference between Britain and England – England is one of the countries that constitute Great Britain (Scotland and Wales being the other 2). Great Britain plus Northern Ireland constitute the United Kingdom.

I recounted this the other day oddly enough: an older friend once told me that his high school class in the 1970s couldn’t find Oregon on a map when the teacher asked. Given that this was in the Willamette Valley, that’s pretty bad.
