    Many years ago, my little sister was an exchange student in Russia. She said American blue jeans(they hated the Russian knock-off versions) were so popular, she was offered the equivilant of a month’s salary for her used pair!

    I had blue jeans prior to that slingshot ride over here! I’m afraid they aren’t entirely blue anymore…

    @ChessPirate

    I was actually a blue jeans broker in the 80s. I could buy them at thrift stores and garage sales on the cheap and sell them for as much as $25 a pair to this company that exported jeans to Russia.

    I had a guy from Colombia in my area relate that he was excited to come to America to get some good quality blue jeans. When he found them in the store, he looked at the tag and it said, “Made in Colombia”. Now that’s capitalism as it functions with socialistic regulations in what’s left of a republic. Dilbert is batting 1000 with this.
