Dogbert’s creating quite a mental picture.

So… you can make fun of women … provided they’re fat.
Even if they can’t help it.
So… fat people are fair game.

Not a tad, no. Let’s just say there is the potential on this date for you to be smothered with affection, Dilbert.

Lighten up Bruno. Comics don’t have to be PC…in fact, if they were, we’d never laugh at anything.

Not just fat women, but anyone who is different in a way that we percieve them as suffering from their affliction. Most cheap humor is based on the suffering of others.

Having spent the greater portion of my life a little pudgy, I think I am allowed to have an opinion on this. Fat people are mentally defective. WE create reasons to eat too much, then whine that non-defective people polk fun at us. Some of US go so far as to think it is our right to get special dispostion because it “isn’t our fault” that we can’t stop pack’in the pie hole. I personally have lost and gained the same twenty lbs at least six times in my life. That’s 120 pounds!

I own several Dilbert books. In one of them he wrote notes about his strips telling anecdotes and bits of background information about them. For this story arc he was trying to make fun of people who are extremely large, not fat. (you will see in a few days the woman is twice dilbert’s size). When it originally published he caught a lot of flak because people thought he was making fun of fat people then, too.

If someone is actually “mentally defective,” though, they still shouldn’t be made fun of. In fact, that often makes the problem worse. And let’s not forget that sometimes it really isn’t their fault. I used to know a woman who, to stay thin, had to exercise so much that her doctor told her she had to cut back. She eventually did, but it left her obese.

So, she beeps when she backs up. Who care? As long as she backs up regularly. (IT joke)

Some fat jokes from Studio C at 3:15
She is so fat it is like the death star put on a pair of pants and Jabba the Hut wants her to come over so he can feel skinny.

I’m sorry to hear about friend, but this is exactly what I’m talking about. Human bodies all work the same- you put x amount of calories in, and the body burns what it needs to function and stores the rest as fat. Therefore, if a person “just cannot stay thin”, they are consuming too many calories. Period. For some people, the number needed to maintain a certain weight might be 3000 calories, for someone else, it might only be 800. Facts, as they say, is facts.
