$1. I guess he isn’t on the William J. LePetomane Thruway.

Yes, there’s normal then there’s Dilbert normal.

Being pleasant to toll collectors is unnormal?
I see it as an opportunity to brighten my own day AND someone else’s.
But then, that’s just me.

Yes, Dilbert, it is normal. It is, however, not common.

It’s normal to be nice to someone who has an even crappier job than you do.

The only eccentricity I see for Dilbert in this situation is that the toll is $1.00 and he’s worried he might not have the “exact change.”

It’s perfectly normal to want all the people you meet to like you
It’s perfectly insane to actually expect it

Toll-takers are people too, ya know…
Why NOT be nice?

Is it as bad of a job as it would seem that it is? Honestly do not know, looking for input. Seems it would be low stress, but boring. Maybe audio books?

In Illinois, toll booth jobs pay very good and are highly desirable for the job security…..to the point you have to “know” someone to even be considered for one.
A friend of mine is so pathetic to be liked he has to trade greetings with every toll booth attendent.

Sonny Corleone didn’t worry if the toll taker like him or…sorry, bad example.
