    I always wonder about the car carriers with the last car precariously dangling on the end, shaking up and down, with only straps or chains around the tires.

    Remember, Dilbert, a good rule of thumb for safe following distance is 1 car length or giant hammer length per 10MPH.

    Forget trying to estimate car lengths. Regardless of speed, maintain at least a two second spaceing between you and the vehicle ahead.
