Look to see the Nitrates flee, smashing through the barricade
The wonder car may take them far, they think they have it made.
A roadblock could not stop them, passage eased by rapid fire
Highway patrolmen scatter, escaping consequences dire.
Elsewhere at the Playhouse, Vitamin becomes King Lear
Mary plays Cordelia, King’s daughter held most dear.
Sprocket soon grows sleepy, must find a place to rest
Finds sanctuary in a barn, horse stall for Lena’s nest.
Silver flips some burgers on the grill in the back seat
Close encounter with the coppers nearly led to his defeat.
Sprocket overdue to bathe, screws on the shower head
Scrubs away the road grime, eyes the hay bales for her bed.
Lena the Hyena has grown restless thus must prowl
Ventures out into the night to explore and sniff and growl.
Silver starts to panic finding Lena now roams free
Should she meet a stranger things could end in agony.

I don’t think that one steak sated Lena’s appetite.

If Lena gets in the chicken coop, someone could end up killed by a farmer’s shotgun.

    The Sunday Limerick

Now Silver and Sprocket kick back.
It is time for some rest and a snack.
    Must this brief interlude
    prematurely conclude?
Because Lena just slipped through a crack!

    Happy sunday, y’all!
LOL! We’ll see Silver going around asking, excuse me, “have you seen my hyena?”
He may post a bill, “Hyena lost, if you see her, please call Barn in the middle of nowhere. Warning, she likes human flesh”

Lena can’t have gone far. They just heard her whining moments ago. However, she doesn’t look too friendly in the first frame. I’d be worried if I lived around there.

    Excellent poem again, Pequod.

Methinks it’s time to just let Lena go. Hard to see either of our baddies going, “Heeeere Lena, come on home baby. That’s a good Lena, now let’s get back in our case…”

A little sibling friction may lead to wider implications. As Sprocket showers and aims to rest, Silver is left with Lena’s escape as his concern alone. That could be a dangerous situation for him, not to mention to anyone, animal or human, Lena should confront on the farm….

    Holey Hitchcock!
Will Lena be drawn back to the car by the smell of those burgers?
And surprise Sprocket while she showers?

Got to wonder if Mike had planned this shower sequence all along, or if it’s for those who see Sprocket as Hygenically Challenged?
