Artist Joe Staton and writer Mike Curtis co-author "Dick Tracy," the classic comic strip distributed by Tribune Media Services.
Created by Chester Gould in 1931, "Dick Tracy" is one of America's most-enduring pop-cultural icons, noteworthy for its steadfast, chisel-jawed hero and the gruesome gallery of villains he and his fearless team of Crimestoppers must outwit to put behind bars.
When longtime "Dick Tracy" artist and writer Dick Locher retired from the strip after 32 years of meritorious service, fans Staton and Curtis jumped at the chance to don the yellow fedora and trench coat. Staton has been drawing comic books for many years and has more than 1,000 credits under his belt. Curtis, who has been writing comics since 1986, is the only former law-enforcement officer to work on "Dick Tracy." Both creators are excited about the new--and dangerous--adventures they have in store for Dick Tracy and his Crimestoppers.

He’s getting away, and will we ever find out about all the skeletons?

Alright, this is the way Gould did things, no easy capture, the scum gets away, while Dick looks for his “Traces”

Now I guess that Mole takes Toad home in his truck and Dick follows the perp

Good morning all…
Prison’s not for Sweatbox. It’s not cool enough there.

I’m hoping for a chase. Meanwhile, what’s going on with Sweatbox’s henchman?
Jim Douglas said, 4 months ago
Is he going forward or backwards?

@Jim Douglas
He is going forwards. The rear of the car is shown in panel two. Sweatbox is getting in on the passenger side (the door was still open from when Mole opened it) and sliding over to the driver’s side.

Looks like Sweatbox is going to try to run down Mole, Toad, Tracy and Lee. Hope Tracy shoots him first. I would hate to see Mole perish protecting Toad.

I just love Toad’s face in the first panel, she looks relieved and safe, while running to her surrogate Daddy

Don’t worry, look at the snow and dirt coming off the wheels, it’s flying towards Toad and Mole, meaning the car is going in the other direction

Simon found his brother’s confession, buried it and took the rap.
Sweatbox was so angered by his brothers death he killed all those involved in Simon’s demise and put the bodies together in the crypt, just like they were in jail.
.
New to the writer’s style so being bold on this first guess.

Today’s art is particularly and powerfully expressive. It has a cinematic, Hitchcockian sensibility. I did fear at first that Sweatbox was intending to run over Mole and Toad and feared Mole was being heroically martyred out of the strip, but then saw that he was heading away from them, not toward them. Tracy should be able to get off a round or two as the car speeds away, but it looks as though Lee will have to get the squadcar rolling , only slowing briefly to let Tracy jump in….

I’m guessing the roads in that rural area aren’t exactly in pristine condition with the snowfall right now. Perhaps Sweatbox will do himself in with an accident? Or at least be stopped by a tree.
