Chester Gould, a veteran cartoonist, began drawing his most legendary character, the dashing and daring Dick Tracy for the newspaper comics page in 1931. Modeled in the image of the innovative Sherlock Holmes, Gould was inspired to create new crime-fighting technology, including the two-way wrist TV, closed circuit TV police line-up and the engineless car that took Dick Tracy to the moon (both literally and figuratively).
Although many remember him with fond nostalgia, Dick Tracy, now written and illustrated by Dick Locher, continues to be relevant as he combines old-fashioned values with 21st century innovation to capture corporate crooks, computer pirates, polluters, skyjackers, gang members and terrorists.

Has anyone bothered to check that clowns gun? And check Mr. Pops also.

That’s the way, big T., manhandle the note and get your fingerprints all over it….

One big clue…
Yes, he signed his name and address at the bottom.
Apparently Andy Warhol’s much smaller brother works for the circus.

If it turned out Ringo screamed “OPEN IT NOW!” yesterday because he knew analyzing the envelope could implicate him, I will be impressed. Not that it’d be any great bit of writing, but it’d be a big step up from… this.
I tried imitating Tracy’s hand in Panel 2. Holding a piece of paper with your thumb and forefinger like that is unnatural, but not as bad as holding your ring and pinky fingers at odds to the rest of your hand like that. Yeesh!

Who is the little boy in the third panel?
LudwigVonDrake said, 3 months ago
Carlo, maybe it’s a new version of Junior Tracy.

Anybody notice the only “real” woman in the circus was the one who got murdered? Hmmmmm. Makes you wonder about that DNA evidence Tracy was describing.

Is the only “real” woman still lying on the sawdust? Where’s the Medical Examiner? Where is the press? This is still a Loooongggg afternoon at the circus. Bonnie, take your dad home and fix him up with a Tall Martini, OK

Yesterday, Maresha (fka EMET) offered “run..a virus check”?
Brilliant! You could have 2 cyber-forensics specialists:
Detective Norton and Lt. Sy Mantec! With their trusted assistant, Mack O’Phee!
And I’m all over Jumbobrain’s Space Coup movement.

How long before Ringo loses his mustache?

Locher has fashiond Tracy into a selective, elective Detective, a “mentat” an analytical genius. He’s now so omnipotent he stands rock steady in one spot, like an (“flihtsuit”s”) Easter island stone stature, collecting clues that are relevant (the note), and discarding others (the old gun).
They’re techniques he learned from the mighty robot Traze-R. Mentally sensing EVIL, Fingerprint evidence? No problem, he can “change” them after a touch of his Matrix humb” to match those of the RIGHT suspect. He’s probably doing that right NOW in panel 2. While I complain nothing happens and he’s just “standing” in the Ring.
mr.bribery recognized Andy Warhol’s much younger brother currently working at the Circus (in the Elephant pen with a shovel). A one time artistic understudy he came (like our pal Mattie) to see the new image of his Messiah
Mattie (aspiring) may be the next Author and Artist (after TMS gives Brozman what’s called “early” retirement) When that happens our Magpie “manufacturer” will move to stifle dissent here and you’ll be reading a comic strip called “DICK LOCHER - the Reflective, DeFective, Detective”.
Remember Alfred Andriola ? And how comic strip Dan Dunn became Kerry Drake ! (?)

Dick Tracy’s hand is only touching the back of and the bottom of the note.
That is not a boy who has a flower in his lapel in that 3rd panel. So, he or the Strong Man could be the sender of the note.

OMG! The big clue! The sender is a goComics reader! Yes folks, the assassin is among us. DNA evidence shows that the sender sealed the envelope with her trademark cherry spangled lip gloss!
I have in my possession certain facts which will prove without a shadow of a doubt the guilty party is none other than our own….Margueritem!

I knew it all along , Dypak , Margueritem is the devil ! Along with her nice avatar hide a devilish mind . No wonder she can’t be the first to respond anymore . She’s hiding behind the little kid on panel three !
What a good team we are !

Sydney; I remember Alfred Andriola who did Dunn and Drake. We could only wish that the present offering could approach either of those 2 strips. Incidentally, I got the latest (Vol 8) Dick Tracy Cases yesterday; More happened in 10 days in the Pruneface arc than 30 in the present circus story. Gramma was slow–she was 93

overtop,
How right you are. That’s when comics were comics and Quality was Quality, Lucily we can still get reprits of a wide variety of great strips from Andy Feighery of Spec Productions.
If Locher was competing with his nonsence back then, they close him down in two months. With that competition his weak stuff just couldn’t stand up.

No! Marge, we’re with you! We want you to finish off everyone in the circus and we can move on. Please! We’ll help even. I think I can take that Bra-Bell guy. Gal? shrug, either way, s(he)’s toast.
OldHipster said, 3 months ago
Hey, I make fun of Dick, too, ya know?
And JUNIOR? He’s close by, hiding behind or under someone. He’s gonna make his move right quick, ya bet.
