   Great…now I can’t get “she floats through the air with the greatest of ease, she floats through the air on a flying trapese” out of my head now. Yet again, more Big Ace. Maybe next weeks Sunday strip we will see a panel with Big Ace eating dinner at the prison.

   No offense, but a NORMAL storyline is the last thing I want to see in Dick Tracy. Otherwise I would just follow Priscilla’s Pop.

   Consistency would be nice, though.

    Gross - Bonnie Braids clearly doesn’t know the meaning of “personal space”.

    So much wrong in the background of the last panel. Looks like one of the trapeze artists is just floating in the air. And - ooooh - a little clown is balancing a ball in the air!

    Not sure which one is going to give me worse nightmares, the elephant or the clown. I will let everyone know tomorrow.

    actual scene from one of the Dick Tracy movies shown on TCM yesterday:
    Tracy squats on the floor of a chemical labratory , examining a spilled unknown liquid…
    he asks one of the lab workers squatting next to him: “do you think this would harm me if I tasted it?”
    the reply was: “I dont know”
    tracy then says: “hm , let’s see” and proceeds to put the suspect liquid to his mouth for a taste.

    DUH!

    was it the attitude of the nineteen forties to be so reckless or was this just tracy being tracy?

    HERKY JERKY (story lines) ?

    1) This is really amazing ! As Tracy is seen pulling on his coat leaving home (March 8 & 9). he states -
    “Police business is really my priority but I promised Gertie I’d pay B.O. a visit”. Fine -

    AND OFF he went, directly to the Casino ! He would not see Tess in the Sunday pages again until today ,saying -
    “The Casino case is over, Tess. I’m home for some relaxation”.

    RELAXATION ?: As B.O. heard when he pulled the lever “ZING - RING - BAZING” ! Tracy hasn’t been on a “real” case since Braces in 2008. Perfume and Gambling Casinos “for so” ! And until this week, just ONE solitary report into work at HQ !

    Then –

    2) I’d really like to KNOW, is brother “Cool Dude” (aka Joe) also going to the Circus? Does this schoolboy still live at home? Where is he ? Has he dissapeared off the face of the Earth ? Even last Christmas at the “Photo Op”, Bonnie and “Cool Dude” were missing. But the Author didn’t “miss a beat” - Non-resident, New Junior was there to smile.

    It’s these Herky-Jerky “inconsistencies” that stretch readers imagination, and make them wonder if Locher is ALL there, and still has his “marbles” intact (?)

    nighthawks - That was a case of poor script writing. The writer needed to move the plot along and didnt have time for a sample to get to the lab and back. So instead he has Tracy stick a finger in it and taste it. I wish I’d known TCM was showing Tracy yesterday, it would have beat all to heck and back what I did, mow my lawn.

    One has to assume that Locher is still doing a fair whack of the penciling (and main character designs) as MoParMitch noted, Tracy and Ringo have the same “eyebrows” that’s one footpint. But the watch out for Aug 3, (some time off) but we see Tracy using the Wrist Geenee with the tell-tale stumpy hand that screams - “designed by LOCHER”!

    Up to Aug. 8 there is no certainty or even viable suspicion on who the villain IS (?) It’s looking as if Locher did indeed, lack the good sense to bring back “the Pouch”. He seems to be embarking on what he likes to call a “mystery” (nobody knows what’s going to happen or who the villain IS?), as HE Locher, doesn;t KNOW either ,,, making it up from ‘day to day’ as he goes along !

    Same thing happened in the J. Kindly Goodfellow, the Shaman, and J. Hennessy Tucker tales. And you may recall what you got. It’s actually a “code word” for a rubbish villain. Locher like Tracy wants a creative holiday.

    But there is an amazing “FIRST” coming up ! … More on it tomorrow !!

    nighthawks: I remember seeing that in a movie serial when I was a kid!! (but it was in the fifties, probably). If I remember right, the next lines were:
    “Tastes like water.”
    “Most chemicals do, Mr. Tracy.” (Spoken by a woman in a lab coat?)
    I didn’t know it at the time, but most chemicals definitely do not taste like water. I think it was actually water, and these guys were dealing with fake chemicals somehow.
    Am I right?
