Chester Gould, a veteran cartoonist, began drawing his most legendary character, the dashing and daring Dick Tracy for the newspaper comics page in 1931. Modeled in the image of the innovative Sherlock Holmes, Gould was inspired to create new crime-fighting technology, including the two-way wrist TV, closed circuit TV police line-up and the engineless car that took Dick Tracy to the moon (both literally and figuratively).
Although many remember him with fond nostalgia, Dick Tracy, now written and illustrated by Dick Locher, continues to be relevant as he combines old-fashioned values with 21st century innovation to capture corporate crooks, computer pirates, polluters, skyjackers, gang members and terrorists.

What the heck happened to the connecting Arms of that steering wheel (mid panel) ? Or is it a Hoola Hoop ?
For a second there it looked like a “see through”…. and I thought sex was returning to the comic strip. Since Fletcher ! died it has moved into prude territory !

At times it’s like a three-ring circus.
At other times it’s like a three-ring looseleaf binder.
Time for Bonnie to confess that it was she who charged that ipod, and the whole last case was based on a gigantic misunderstanding…

Yet another product of Diet Smith Technology: the Bluetooth steering wheel!

The arm and the hand in the 2nd panel are so crap!! But finally we have a normal day in the Dick Tracy life. I hope in a good storyline.

Panel two does look a little like Tracy on the Wii, doesn’t it.

No, Tracy; you ARE the circus.

Could the foreshadowing of this story be any more blatant!?!

I’m more worried about where Tracy has his right hand. Such an affectionate daddy!
I’d recommend that Bonnie keep him at arm’s length, but with that arm, it wouldn’t do much good.

I’ll bet she’s grateful she didn’t inherit her daddy’s nose.

Is that a steering wheel on your chin or are you just happy to …..

Peeping and seeing “right through” in Gasoline Alley’s middle panel today is so much more rewarding than the dull fare through a wheel back in Tracy …
Locher and Brozman should take a peep too
As the man said the other day, the “Jim” there, has a much better ‘feel’ on a pistol packing mama than over here !

Okay, maybe I’m overanalyzing… but I think the next storyline is going to be about a circus.

If dick tracy was feeleng up his daughter atleast it would mean something was happening in this comic strip

I also thought DT had made it to second base.
Then I realized that, unfortunately, it could just be another round of confusion caused by poorly drawn hands. Since we can’t use scale, perspective or logic to conclusively determine whose hand that is, we have to realize that it is possible that Bonnie is giving herself an examination. or that Tess is using the “long arm of the law’s wife” to make this a three-way circus.

I’ve discovered that if you make obsevations that are not complimentary on Dick Locher’s work, there is an “automatic” denial from supporters jumping out at you – “IT JUST ISN;T SO !” they shout !.
The latesr one is they INSIST that there is sound CONTINUITY in Lochers work from story to story. That’s their current stand !
To disabuse and blow away their false defense, I’ve taken to scrupulously pointing out every new “infringement” until the “weight” of evidence brings down their flying Kite.
From the strip’s text today, we have the impression that Bonnie NOW lives AWAY from home. Last time I heard, she was still living right at home (late 2004)
So, another piece of idealized and glamorized Locher mythology is shot down !

Well as the day is ending seems there has been a close race for the Dick’s I. T.T Award between posters ARF2 who barked out the “Bluetooth” steering wheel comment and Ray C (who was first), and thomas jackman (who was more explicit) ON the “action” seen in panel 3.
It was paper-thin close, but I think jackman who’s phrasing was a tad more humorously phrased, takes today’s Prize. Keep your Thumb warm Jack , a Dick Locher personally autographed MATRIX Pack, is on it’s way to you !

The comments are funnier than the strip that is
hilarious at times although perhaps not intentionally so.
The steering wheel was a nice touch to make us laugh.
I’m sure some parts are intentional!

Bonnie: “Dad, I have a new job. It’s with the Ringling Bros. Circus and with this short arm, I got a position in the Freak Show. Do you still have that third arm growing out of your chest? Maybe you can join, too!”
“Hey, wait a minute, Dad! With that last grope, I see you still have it!”
