Chester Gould, a veteran cartoonist, began drawing his most legendary character, the dashing and daring Dick Tracy for the newspaper comics page in 1931. Modeled in the image of the innovative Sherlock Holmes, Gould was inspired to create new crime-fighting technology, including the two-way wrist TV, closed circuit TV police line-up and the engineless car that took Dick Tracy to the moon (both literally and figuratively).
Although many remember him with fond nostalgia, Dick Tracy, now written and illustrated by Dick Locher, continues to be relevant as he combines old-fashioned values with 21st century innovation to capture corporate crooks, computer pirates, polluters, skyjackers, gang members and terrorists.

Washington DC: robbing us blind 104 arms at a time.(Senate and White House)
Oh Canada we stand on guard for you……
Canada the only nation that claims fencing as its national defence. ‘On guard, eh?’
Roses are red
Penguins wear blue
Sometimes i like to say ‘A’ to you.
The ace of Maple Leafs tops all.

Xaxos, is that you?

It is clear it was a setup. It is clear Tracy is armed. Dick has time to make witty little “Joe Friday” comments. It has not yet been announced that he is a POLICEMAN! When did Dick Tracy turn into Jack Bauer?
LudwigVonDrake said, 4 months ago
Hey Grok, you know what they say: small hands, small…oh well maybe that’s why Tess doesn’t mind that Tracy is never home.

Now is it over? Oh yeah; we gotta see if B.O. keeps his money that he rightfully won. And finally, since DT bet BA double or nothin’, is he gonna give the K of C his seed money back (less DT’s usual fee, of course)?

Fos- You’re putting the cart before the horse, pal. Jack Bauer is an incarnation of DICK TRACY, not the other way around.
Chester Gould once wrote: “The pathways of crime are clearly marked. There’s a doublecross on every corner.”

Did i get lost in this story? It’s the best Dick Tracy story in years, but did they ever figure how this ties in with Tess’ credit card fraud?

Does anyone here see a resemblence to Brute Force? Look at that head in Panel 1!
Tracy again shows the very worst in Police Procedure. By now, Capt. Lizz would be locking him up and he’d be looking for Johnny Cochran.

THE NECK:
Brozman thumbing through Locher’s last year strips must have caught the bug and Grock spotted that “bull” neck. That’s Traze-R incarnate with Moon Mullings eyes.
Sharp readers may have noticed that the usual suspects don’t bother to defend Brozman’s goofs, just the Writer’s (which are really beyond help) But it does assist in identifying the veiled schemata.
HOW MANY MILLION ?:
One can see “flightsuit” thinking for all of us under his purple wig. But it still remains a puzzle. Low number is ‘Half a Mil’, and it once zoomed up to ‘Three Million’ (??) Where are the defenders of the Naperville faith? Time for some clarification here, but let’s not call on the Almighty again for this one,
DEAD MANS HAND ?
Seems there is another random ‘number’ popping up here. Does the card arrangement mean Mr.Amonia is only “half” the man Wild Bill was (?), and so to speak, a duplicate of HIS “Creator”?
Creator ? I’m just begining to understand NOT what, but WHO was the Deity meant by yesterday’s comment, “the Matrix Pack is GOD”. How silly of me ! And all this time I thought God lived in Heaven !

Ludwig. It looks like you think someone has a neut “floot” (?)
I’ve always noted that Gould drew the buildings that he saw ‘around’ him. Chicago sky scrapes and all, even when the story base switched to New York ! Can’t be sure other people follow that example

if it is so necessary to show tracy holding a gun, why not draw the 2nd panel pulled back enough to show tracy’s body so that the hand holding the gun wont be idiotically held next to his cheek?

” You’re armed ! This is a set-up ! ”
Bravo Einstein , If I am a teller at a bank and a guy come to me with a gun , I will think : ” This it is a set-up ” .
” Please take the money ( wink wink ) and have a good day sir ( re - wink wink ) ”
Hey , the other henchman , where are you ?
Put us all of misery , KILL HIM !

SEEK ? No need !
“Weak” by the week is the “truth” that was revealed to me a long time ago. I’ts those that deny what is regularly, visually presented by looking downwind that still flounder finding it.
The Maze is confusing, it’s so easy to consitently take the wrong turn, and practise does make perfect ! Perseverance and time will solve the problem

I am not concerned with the truth, a consistent story and continuity would be a god send. I cannot even draw parallel lines, so I will hold comment on the art, but, I can read and comprehend a storyline and plot, so please give me that at least.

Tracy looks pretty smug for someone who just shot a man in cold blood.

Hey Jeff- you gotcha y’self a tent now and a few foldin’ chairs and head south on The Revival Trail. Of course you’d have to leave Mattie at home cuz he’s a devout Athiest. That wouldn’t help you when you passed the plate.

Upon the theology of card suits, the diamonds in the hands are a sign of bribery and greed. The spade is the tool used to dig the grave, hence it is the death card.
The ace of hearts is a blessing because it shows you have at least one. The Ace of clubs?
Popcorn. Having food is always good, especially if you don’t have to trade your Ace of heart to get it.
And the Ace of Maple leafs is called when you have a joker in the hand! It’s a wildcard scenario.
(What does trinitarian theology have to do with this real comic? )
