Chester Gould, a veteran cartoonist, began drawing his most legendary character, the dashing and daring Dick Tracy for the newspaper comics page in 1931. Modeled in the image of the innovative Sherlock Holmes, Gould was inspired to create new crime-fighting technology, including the two-way wrist TV, closed circuit TV police line-up and the engineless car that took Dick Tracy to the moon (both literally and figuratively).
Although many remember him with fond nostalgia, Dick Tracy, now written and illustrated by Dick Locher, continues to be relevant as he combines old-fashioned values with 21st century innovation to capture corporate crooks, computer pirates, polluters, skyjackers, gang members and terrorists.

uh-OH, mf is starting to think for himself. Braces could be in deep doo-doo. Meanwhile our intrepid dective, Clueless, has somehow wound up back at the station, where Traze-R is again repeating what he said last week…

Pretty soon he’ll do the strip too. At last. Plot progression !

It had to happen. Sooner or later that robot would figure out that he could use that data to become smarter. Truth of the matter is that Braces lost out when MF said he could load himself on the truck. From then on, it was the robot’s show and Braces was along for the ride.

UNBELIEVABLE!! Tracy and Robo Dick are back at the station? Are you kidding me? This Blows.
Grok says: …Dear God, those ARE hubcaps! MY GOD! You’re right!
Either that or breast implants for MF.
MF’s goggles are pink for Breast Cancer awareness week.

Last Panel - “They deal in top secret spy-in-the-sky info”
Right, from WWII with those Mag Tapes (or breast implants) Evryone knows flash drives and microchips are so “Old School”

Wait, it gets better! Sooner or later Dick’s boss will figure out that Mecha-Dickzilla makes a better detective than Dick Tracy does. Can you say “soup-line” Dick Tracy? Good, I thought you could.

Little does Braces know, but MF has been going to N.O.W. meetings, disguised as a woman (I’m sure there are some uglier than MF), and learning who really wears the pants in the household. Pretty soon, Braces is gonna want his money back. His biggest problem is when MF brings out the handcuffs.

The fifth panel is precious as Tracy and his Robot pose the same.
It’s bad enough they have the useless Lt. Teevo who is the new guy who knows the address of the Genesis Corp.?
So Tracy and his Robot got back into the truck and back to the Station because they didn’t have back-up?
Robo-Tracy has rediscovered his vowels!

Apparently Braces likes the robot dominating him. My guess is…. MF is NOT going to listen to Braces. Ohhhh Locher way to turn the plot! What a snappy twist.
Hey, what is wrong with Tracy in panel 6? He seems creally confused. MMMMM maybe if I squint extra hard then the words coming out of the robot’s mouth will make sense.
This is how I look when I enjoy a good plot twist

The excitement level of this story is accelarating, and shifting into low. Better than reverse!

Poor Sam, drawn to look like Nixon. Oh worthy second banana, how low hast thou sunk.

hm - the usual w/end recap, that introduces some new stuff … MF wasn’t near this mouthy or assertive during the week …

The guy with Tracy and Sam who knows where Genesis is looks awfully familiar… I know! It’s Soupy Sales!

I think that’s Gilbert Gottfried in the next-to-last panel.

I’m not a Locher defender, but the Sunday strip does always do a recap. This is actually pretty good advancement for a Sunday. The Monday strip will probably echo some of the Sunday strip for those who don’t get the Sunday comics. Locher isn’t alone in doing this. Also, the robot starting to think for itself is a good (if not original) plot twist. Things are getting interesting here. You all may disagree with me, but I think we have a story! Not as complex as Pibgorn, but much easier for a dummy like me to follow.

Hey, like it’s said in those classic Vince and Larry PSA’s: “You can learn a lot from a dummy”!

Wow! What a snarky robot!

I’m thinking that’s Bill Cosby next to Sam.
Saucy1121 said, about 1 year ago
If that is Cosby, then the solution to MF is clear: use Jell-O pudding to gum up his circuit boards.
