Chester Gould, a veteran cartoonist, began drawing his most legendary character, the dashing and daring Dick Tracy for the newspaper comics page in 1931. Modeled in the image of the innovative Sherlock Holmes, Gould was inspired to create new crime-fighting technology, including the two-way wrist TV, closed circuit TV police line-up and the engineless car that took Dick Tracy to the moon (both literally and figuratively).
Although many remember him with fond nostalgia, Dick Tracy, now written and illustrated by Dick Locher, continues to be relevant as he combines old-fashioned values with 21st century innovation to capture corporate crooks, computer pirates, polluters, skyjackers, gang members and terrorists.

They said this yesterday…..

Why did the robot repeat the word “force”? Is it programmed to repeat the last word in a sentence? Too bad the last word wasn’t “Kool-Aid” or something else really profound.

All you DT fans, check out today’s ‘Strange Brew’.

STRANGE BREW: “They’re building these new robots with amazingly human-like movement”, which is more than I can say for these two.

Remember last Halloween’s story? To be “nice” to Locher, I’ll call it the October Effect……..

Please tell us another 50 times about your insane plan, Braces.

Perhaps Shirl has infiltrated Braces mob and will turn him in. Sometime next year!!!!!

Hey Dakota! Welcome back to our little club. This is the first time I’ve noticed your posting.
I don’t remember Braces wearing a striped jacket. Did he change his coat since they said the same stuff yesterday???

Shirl has a plea bargain arrangement.

Morrow: Yes I do remember last year’s story…it was the Haunted Mansion, which dragged on past Christmas. I hope this one doesn’t do that. It would be nice to have a (relatively short) Christmas themed story. Maybe Mr. Locher is planning the big “rock ‘em sock ‘em robots” battle for Christmas morning!!! ;)

Gould used to remind his followers of the season’s significance by having everyone show up for a big dinner and giving thanks. B.O. and Gravel were there, along with all the good guys. Even Pat Patton and Liz(z) came with Sam. Those days may have gone forever. Maybe we could work Pat’s overdue retirement party in. I just hope this isn’t a repeat of the same treatment Locher gave us last year in the haunted house. (Groan…)

Morrow, if the Governor and the Mayor show up I’m going to find my own party.

At this point would anyone be surprised if Moon Maid came back from the dead to battle the constipated Braces and his evil minions?

I’d welcome an appearance form Moonmaid at this point. No, on second thought, it would only tarnish her memory.

I can very easily imagine this entire “Braces reveals his plan” scene being done in less than a week. I’m pretty sure it could be done in a single day if necessary.
sigh.

BTW when was the last time Junior appeared in a strip?
Locher has to get back to the roots of DT.

Last panel: MF has a pained expression on his pan and is saying “force”. It looks like he’s constipated too!

We’ve been looking for Junior, Sparkle and Pat Patton for years.
Gweedo Murray said, about 1 year ago
Junior, Sparkle and Pat Patton got smart and bailed on these trudgy, Sludgy story lines. No refund.no problem.

Uh oh! MF wants to go to Macy’s first and sit on Santa’s knee. And if Santa won’t see him, poor Santa…. Braces had better placate MF unless he’s prepared to pay for the damage to Macy’s.
