Chester Gould, a veteran cartoonist, began drawing his most legendary character, the dashing and daring Dick Tracy for the newspaper comics page in 1931. Modeled in the image of the innovative Sherlock Holmes, Gould was inspired to create new crime-fighting technology, including the two-way wrist TV, closed circuit TV police line-up and the engineless car that took Dick Tracy to the moon (both literally and figuratively).
Although many remember him with fond nostalgia, Dick Tracy, now written and illustrated by Dick Locher, continues to be relevant as he combines old-fashioned values with 21st century innovation to capture corporate crooks, computer pirates, polluters, skyjackers, gang members and terrorists.

The robot is looking good. Great shading. I even like it’s arm in the first panel. Wonder if Liz got her left hand fixed yet?

$200 GPS units have better voice technology than that robot. I’ve noticed that űbergeeks still create file names like they were working in DOS. The first thngs t go r th vwlz.

Tracy looks like he’s in pain. Maybe he’s been reading this story as well?

Wouldn’t using a computer-looking font have been better than trying to symbolize robot speak by not using most vowels?!?!?!

Where’s Jeff-Pro? He’s not reaping the BNFIT of his 8-CNT INVSTMNT.
Sorry about your umlaut problem, runar. Some güüüys got ‘em; some g□ys don’t.

I’ve got to start getting up earlier.
You can’t make an umlaut without breaking eggs, you know.

It’s easier than trying to do an ablaut.

Oh no! Not string electrical activity! That sounds like a terrible problem that Tracy should give all his attention to, never mind the robbery going on at the other side of town.
Traze-R does look kind of cool today. Maybe MF will look cooler than we think when we finally see his mug up close.
I agree, shut the F up, Sam, who asked him?

I’m looking at the ads. There. I did my part to get their moneys worth. How many “talkies” did Chaplin do? If this was the only one. WOW!

I offer my own observation and am immediately attacked by the brave Bassmanbob (who won’t even register with a real name).
Sad.

I figured that it had to be someone that we all knew and loved.

Before there was Ugly Betty there was Ugly Christine a gun moll character created by Gould that reeked havoc for Tracy back in 1965. Remember?

I was still reading Dick Tracy in 1965, but I don’t remember that character.

I said NOTHING about ANYONE in particular, bassmanbob. All I did was make an observation as a CREATOR of comic strips and how I found it disheartening that nobody wants to pay their fair share, but would rather just be a free-loader.
YOU, on the other hand, immediately being with the personal attacks against me–and even when I wasn’t here you kept it up from the previous board. YOU jump right on me as soon as I post. THAT is an attack, NOT an observation.
Like I said before, sad.

Grokenstein:
I just ask for “fair play” is all. Apparently, on the internet, that is TOO much to ask for.
Also, I never made, or even inferred, the comments that you attribute to me.
Get a clue.

Remember, Trze-R is speaking! He’s not using a keyboard, his text is not being read, so why the behjebers can’t he use vowels? Does it take to long for a robot to articulate more than one vowel per word?

BNM, to use your own words from the old board: BE GONE!
Next you’ll tell us that Sam can’t have an opinion because he doesn’t pay 8 cents a day.
