    Is Mr. Locher still upset that the %1 have to pay a little bit more now, still far, far away from “fair share”? Why would he be upset? I didn’t know that cartoonists make more than $400K a year. There has to be a different reason. Koch payroll, anyone?

    The President does not levy taxes. Congress does. Or, in this case, spends unearned tax revenue then tries to beat the check.

    “The Rich” can also be defined as “anyone who earns enough to pay taxes”.

    Here’s something to think about.

    Government, you want more of it. OK. What if the government took over a few farms. Or just used the land they already control and grow food. Then they can occupy a few abandoned buildings, factories, since so many are shut down now and bankrupt because of government policy. Now they can hire people to process the food. People to run the factories to put it all together into another “smart” meal and use THAT for food stamps and WIC and all that. You issue everyone a card and they can shop there at very discounted credit since all the food is free, it was grown by, processed and manufactured by government workers who really don’t need much of a salary because they HAVE a card and all.

    So, now you have created a BUNCH of jobs, cut funding for welfare programs, continued farms subsidies in a credit for food contributed to the cause which can be taken as a tax break on your income taxes (tax code reform) fed the needy and the homeless, looked after everyone’s health care because the food is a “smart meal” so calories, fat, salt and so on can be regulated and put a big dent in the deficit and maybe the debt.

    Naw, that could never work.
