I heard about a programmer who outsourced his own job to China. They do the work on the cheap and he stays home and plays video games.

Before Y2K we had an Indian “liaison” office in the company I worked at the time. These four guys talked to the management, answered questions, showed “presence” and transmitted code back and forth to India. The 500 Indians who actually did the re-coding and testing you never knew of. But they did a good job, zero problems on 1/1/2000. But the current system of low-wage outsourcing will not last. With rising influx of money the demand for a better living will lead to higher wages and therefor a slowing of outsourcing and the like. What will be the new trend is “working from the beach”. I can do my job while sipping Martinis from any place that has Wi-Fi, so why not do it from Hawaii or similar…

China is now looking at taking US land in exchange for the debt it bought. o has also allowed china to own major interests in oil and natural gas resources in the US.

^ So you’re telling me that Americans are willing to sell off their country in order to maintain that super high standard of living you’re enjoying? The idea of “doing without” something never really crosses your mind, does it?
Your grandchildren will damn you.

No, it is Obama and the “takers” who are willing to do, that. They pay no taxes and get entitlements and do not give a damn about anyone else. It is the responsible hard working makers- the middle class that will have to pay for Obama’s folly.
Just where do you think our debt comes from? Obama ran up $5T in 4 years to pay for medicaid, welfare, food stamps and other entitlements all borrowed from China.
But you are right- our grandchildren will damn the liberals.

Yeah, it’s the “takers” that are stealing our country from us job creators. To understand what Libertarian is talking about, just read Ayn Rand’s “The Fountainhead Shrugged.”

You seem to be missing the point. To be a job creator you must actually work. Staying home collecting welfare is not job creation. Try it some time. There are psychic rewards from a hard days work.

I get a lot of “Is it made in America?” I say no but I can get one for you. It will cost 4 times as much. Do you want me to order it for you? Guess what the answer to that is. Everyone is a patriot until it comes out of their wallet. That’s only one part of the problem but, a significant part.

Bush and Reagan were both takers.

Surely you don’t really believe only Republicans / Conservatives / Libertarians work for a living and contribute to society? That lies somewhere between elitism and stupidity.

There are 48 million Americans on food stamps, there are tens of millions of Americans on Medicaid, there are tens of millions of Americans on welfare, there are over 10 million unemployed. The vast, vast, vast majority of those do not create jobs, voted for Obama and are “takers”.
It is our wonderful middle class who work, contribute and help the federal government pay for education, the environment, defense, our debt and big bird. My guess is about half also voted for Obama.

There can be many reasons for, and many fine people among the disadvantaged you list. Just writing them off as useless in society is simplistic and inaccurate. And I doubt very much you can categorize them on the basis of political belief, or jump to unsubstantiated conclusions on how they voted, if they voted.
.
It’s axiomatic that the disadvantaged will not be the captains of industry or the elite in society. But then it’s also true the elite may be the biggest “takers” in society, receiving considerable government largess; and their take of the wealth pie may be completely out of proportion to their contribution, being paid too much.

Why the hell should I “work”? I’m rich. Work is for the lower classes. And they work at the jobs that I create.
Further, it’s not “welfare.” I deserve the money Congress gives me. I invest it and it stimulates the economy for everyone.
You’re some kind of Communist, aren’t you.
