Hmm, Mars is a hostile environment, why didn’t the rover carry a gun? Oh, right, it has a laser to cut rock for analysis.

Where in the Second Amendment does it give the right to assault rifles, Mr. Asay? I thought it applied to muskets…

You’re wrong…….. again, But assault rifles have never been use in a school killing…….rifles that look like assault rifles have been used……The most horrific school killing in the US did not involve guns.

Do you think the founding fathers didn’t think that technology would evolve? Seriously? You think they were that stupid? or is that what your lefty superiors told you to believe while you guzzle your kool aid?

@echoraven
Tell me (BTW, me used to be Dredpiraterobt$, just so you know) Echoraven, how will guns evolve from here?
.
Can you envision (without going Star Trek) what the gun will be like in 150 years? How about in 225 years?
.
Did the Founding fathers envision electricity and the utility grid? Ben Franklin had just invented the Lightening rod, and everyone said he was crazy. Do you suppose that if he said “One day, the entire world will be lit by that same force!” that they wouldn’t have confiscated his guns, because he was not bat poop crazy?
.
You say the same thing again and again and don’t listen to reason.
.
You are on the side of evil, echoraven. Why?

It’s still a ridiculously long stretch to make this cartoon.
.
I was called by a push poller yesterday at my office. They tried so hard to get me to say that Obamacare was going to ruin my business.
.
Obamacare won’t help my business, but it won’t hurt it any worse than it is already hurt by the Insurance company. That’s what I don’t like about Obamacare. It does nothing for ME!
.
“what is the most important issue tothe nation and your business? Is it the Obamacare? Is it the Higher taxes due to the Fiscal Cliff Deal? Is it the Obamacare fiscal cliff?” The most important issue facing my business and the nation is the restoration of the middle class!
.
Anyway… whatevs.

Onguard, I couldn’t help but notice you didn’t say what I’m wrong about? Would you like to claim that the Founding Fathers intended the Second Amendment to apply to assault rifles? How about machine guns? Bazookas? Shoulder-mounted tactical nukes? I’m wondering if we’re reading the same Second Amendment.

@echoraven
Yes, Echoraven, I’m pretty certain that the Founding Fathers didn’t even in their wildest dreams that imagine that a weapons would evolve to the extent that a single person with a shoulder-mounted tactical nuke could destroy an entire city with a single shot. Because if they had allowed for such a thing, they would have worded the Second Amendment very differently. Or do you think they were that stupid?
And to answer your last question, no one told me to believe anything. I merely read the text of the Second Amendment, and looked to see what “arms” they could have been referring to. How did you decide that they wanted their amendment to apply to shoulder-mounted tactical nukes? Is that what your righty superiors told you to believe while you guzzle your kool aid?

I like it that you keep reminding people of your old nickname. That’s fair and truthful. Thank you for being a good human being in a world of crazies…

To the “Founder Father could envision” thread.
.
Did the FFs envision skyscrapers? Apartment complexes with 1,000 families living on top of one another?
.
And if they did don you think that any of them thought is would be a good idea that the building be filled with guns and explosive balck powder? (keep in mind that they were still cooking dinner in the fireplace.)
.
Cooking/fire. Do you suppose that they could imagine that one day the fuel for your fire place (oven) would be a pipe with an invisible, oderless “gas” that burned. or that the strands of metal that was used to hold jewelery together or maybe the golden threads in a jacket might be how you got the “fuel” from miles away to the fire place?
.
No of course they couldn’t imagine that. They wouldn’t imagine it any more than they or you would have imagined the Microwave oven before it became a kitchen staple (and do you really KNOW how it works?, for that matter, do you REALLY know how the telephone works the one on the wall, forget the one in your pocket!) So IF they imagined a future with cities populated with multiples of the total US population they would expect them to be powered by fire. And so they would have said "Let’s not be stupid about this, you can’t have a 1,000 houses stacked on top of each other and each of them with a big bag of black powder, that’s just insane! You’re asking for it to blow up!
