   Even before Obama sunk the tentative deal by thug-style trash talking at the 11:59 hour, the Republicans had a detailed and well-organized plan of revenue increases in place. What did the Democrats offer in return in terms of spending cuts? Zero. Zip. Nada. They even added insult to injury by extending the welfare-by-another-name “unemployment benefits” by a year. Let ’em go over the cliff, and let history reflect whose lack of leadership caused it to happen.

   I am not anywhere nearly as good a Christian as I would like to be (and in that I am in tune with Paul, who has been said to be the greatest Christian outside of Christ himself), and I disagree as to your politics, so that makes me (only a relative liberal, as are the great majority of Americans, as the last election showed) an atheist?

   You on the other hand, like to call yourself a Christian, but by making such overall statements about others (judging in other words) you are the biggest hypocrite on these boards. And the worst thing that Christ called others when he was here was “Hypocrite!”.

   I hope you don’t mind a Pagan saying something here. Even though I don’t read it anymore, I keep my NIV as a reference should I need it. Problem is, it’s packed in a box somewhere in my closet….
   Do you remember that one verse where Christ said of certain people that they were “whitewashed on the outside, but rotten within”?
   To me, that describes some of the Trolls on here. The problem with the Internet is that Words speak loudly as we can’t see Actions….

   The Pharisees who were the ultra conservative Jewish leadership at the time had just admonished Christ’s disciples for not washing their hands before eating. Then Christ (knowing the inner souls of all men, including the Pharisees) Told them that while they were physically clean, (like the outer cup) their souls were filthy with sins such as pride, greed, and lust (to name a few). That was the inner cup to which he was referring. And his teachings (as usual) are just as pertinent today as they were over 2,000 years ago!!!

   Hm m m . . . yeah, except the Pharisees were right about washing hands before eating . . . not that that takes away from Christ’s remarks, just saying physical health needs care just as much as spiritual health.

    Obama is fighting to extend the Bush tax cuts so you don’t have to pay so much in taxes and the Republicans are fighting to stop him so you have to pay more. Which side are you on?
