   why aren’t you trying to educate women in the use of these magnificent tools? The only way a small woman has an equal chance in a fight against a big guy is with the right tool for the job.

   Yes it is as American as apple pie. Maybe there should be some shutting of loopholes (such as private purchasing/transfers) but other than that, the issue is more the people behind the gun rather than the gun itself.

   Pleased reeducate yourself and read the Bill of Rights. especially the 2nd amendment and pay close attention to the this portion of the 2nd Amendment:

   “… The Right to own and Bear Arms shall not be infringed”

   Definition to help you understand our own Constitution gives use the Right to own guns.

    tigger: of course that silly “well regulated militia” has nothing to do with the Second, and it’s “keep” not “own”. In fact the Articles of Confederation limited weapons OWNERSHIP to the state, NOT the private individual, so the Constitution loosened ownership, slightly, but still doesn’t say anyone can buy an AK or Barrett .50 cal for “personal protection”.

    I said you need to read the entire Amendment, the last part gives us the Right to own Guns.. You cannot read as I also included the Definition of Infringed.

    the 2nd amendment is a classic constitutional tension. SO LONG as a well regulated milita exists, the people get to keep and bear arms.
