A lot of the other countries who vote have a central office in charge of the whole thing. In the US a lot of the power rests with the states. Maybe we should mimic some of the countries we inspired to go with democracy. The did have the chance to build their voting system based on lessons learned from ours. Perhaps its time we paid attention.

It happens everytime the dems lose. The libs demand we change our system so libs would win everytime.

In case you have not been paying attention, not only is President Obama now president for the next 4 years, but the senate will stay under the control of the Democrats, that was just so you know the Democrats did not lose. Sorry about that.

The House of Representatives will stay under the control of the Republicans, but with the goal of not allowing President Obama a second term now in a shambles, just perhaps the more moderate Republicans will be able to become more than just the party of “NO!” all the time!

Ima, your hero Donald Trump called for the abolishment of the Electoral College, he even called for a revolution and a march onto Washington! Please get your facts strait: WHOEVER loses calls for a change in the system. Also Trump should be charged with treason…

As citizen of a country you “inspired” (Germany…) I can tell you that our laws regarding voting were fully vetted and approved by the occupational forces before we were allowed to use this voting system. The U.S. of A. knows FULL WELL how broken their system is, it’s just the weight of history that prevents any changes. Your system of amendments is great, but at some point a sensible re-write of the constitution would be in order. Among other things this would avoid the embarrassing discussion whether the “3/5 of a man” clause should be read out loud on the floor of the House…

wow, look at the reality warm IMA lives in. the dems retain the presidency and increase in the senate, though not enough, and she calls that a lose?

now i consider it a win, since i’m a conservative LIBERAL, and i’m calling for a revamp of the voting system. The electronic voting machines, built overwhelmingly by republican businesses, with little or no security, and worse, NO AUDIT TRAILS (also fought hard for by the republicans) can not be trusted.

we need electronic voting with security and audit trails.

and we need them before the next election.

We sure do, so we can be sure the DemocRATS are not cheating! Why are the machines built by Republican businesses? Maybe because the Democrats are too busy collecting all the government handouts to open & run a business! And with Emperor Obama in office again, we may not have to worry about another election. He is probably trying to find a way to make himself President for Life.

While I hate the Citizen’s United ruling, and I dislike the electronic voting machines, I do believe it is important States retain control of how they give access to the voters and strongly disagree with centralizing the count with the central government. Federal control in requiring certain standards be met is good, but, believe it or not, I am very much against too much power being given to those who go to Washington DC.
    Respectfully,
    C.

I doubt if they will try the obstruction route again… Obama doesn’t have to worry about his job anymore… But Congress does… They really need to work on their approval rating. Not to mention the Masses have spoken once again. Maybe their ego will get in the way… Maybe their new goal is to make sure Obama is not a 3 term President… but they need to wake up.
