Taxes haven’t been this low this low in 60 years! Maybe that’s why we have a big deficit, you think?

Help me out here, is this Obama and Romney both ignoring these issues during an election year? Wait, taxes are too low, hence the deficit. Immigrants are awaiting a return to a good economy. Economy is all messed up, with wrong people in wrong jobs, but it takes a while to undo a really good crash.

Let’s see, how did we get a big deficit. Well now, the US has an annual income of approximately 2.3 trillion dollars. Presidents from both parties have a habit of spending more. President Obama has spent over 1 trillion dollars a year more than the income each year of his term. When you spend more than you make your add to the debt. But the “deficit” is so large because congress and the president are borrowing money to fund project that we have no money to fund.

Now Barack wants to tax the rich to help defray some of the cost. And yes , that extra 75-85 billion a year increase the revenue side. BUT, the service (interest) on the current debt is 350 billion a year so you see that 75-85 billion from the rich doesn’t even cover the interest payment on the debt so HOW can it lower that debt?

Maybe we have such a big deficit because we spend more than we have. Credit card mentality. Something that would not surprise me if you knew it very well.

Yes, this is a non-partisan cartoon, saying that there is absolutely no chance that either of the only two candidates that have a chance of winning will do anything at all to address the problems facing the US.

Whichever one gets elected will do just as The Distinguished Gentleman did (before he got reformed by a good woman for a Hollywood ending—in real life, she’d want as much as he could possibly steal).

Right, I forgot about those wars the Nincompoop started and the give away to Big Pharm called Part D. Thanks for reminding me.

Wars on the credit card? Yeah, that was a big help in balancing the budget. Medicare Part D? Another way to bring spending under control, NOT!

One more thing: 90% of the gains in the economy went to the top 5%. I know which side you are on.

balance budgets are nearly impossible. one has to have perfect external conditions, no population growth, political and economic discipline.

Legalized theft is at an all time low? GREAT!
Tax revenue is at an all time high. What would be the unreasonable response by irrational and jealous libs? Raise taxes, that’s it.

No, it is trolls like you that erode the political environment. From your first post, you’ve done nothing but attack others. Not a single post that you could substantiate, Ever.

indieme, I think Bruce4671 is a reasonable poster. He has presented a conservative viewpoint in a reasonable manner, open to revenue increases and NOT resorting to name calling or bumper sticker/slogan arguments.
    -
Even though he is on the conservative ‘side’, I don’t believe it’s the 90%/5% side, if that makes sense.
    -
It’s ok to be on a side. It’s not ok to parrot Fox ‘News’ and Bruce doesn’t do that.
    -
I think your counter points as in the previous post enrich the debate, as do Bruce’s posts.

    JMFO, not meant to offend.

    -
For some reason, I couldn’t copy your quote.

Who extended the Bush Tax Cuts for only the Top 1%?

Obama is a lair plain and simple, he had his chance to allow the Bush Tax Cuts for only the Top 1% to expire in late December 2010, instead of Obama killing the Bush Tax Cuts for only the top 1%, he gave them new life.

Why can’t you see by Obama’s actions, he’s a liar when he tells yiu he will increase taxes on the Top 1%?

Remember, you have repeatedly started that Bush gave Tax Cuts to only the Top 1% and No One Else! So, by your own words and Obama’s own words, since Bush gave no one but the top 1% a Tax Cut, then the only ones who benefited from Obama extending the Bush Tax Cuts are the 1%

Obama is a liar when he says he want to Tax The Rich, as in late December 2010, he extended the Bush Tax Cuts for only the Rich
