   Said bin Laden, and other terrorists Bush missed. Also, we’re “out” of Iraq war, pulling out of Afghanistan (too slowly), the Dow Jones keeps flirting with 13,000, job recovery is slow, but after all the U.S. companies closing infrastructure for 30 years, it takes more effort FROM INDUSTRY, not just “politics”, and if we can get rid of the upper end of “Bush tax cuts”, slow defense spending on garbage, and take in some revenue, well things will improve. It takes Congress though, like THE HOUSE, not just the President and Senate, with a totally opposed to EVERYTHING “loyal” opposition.

   Why did Obama extend the Bush Tax Cuts?

   The way the Bush Tax Cuts were written, it’s an all or nothing deal, this means either all The Bush Tax are extended or none of the Bush tax Cuts are extended.

   Tigger, you know as well as I do it was blackmail. The economy was tanking, we needed stimulus and more unemployment benefits to avoid a ten-year slump, and the GOP was willing to let America go down the drain to save their rich friends’ obscenely low tax rates.

    Maybe because under ANY Republican president, Obama’s plan to aid states through the crisis would have passed congress. Because such plans have always passed in the past under both parties, because they stimulate the economy. And because the GOP now thinks making America bankrupt, bankrupting the states, and ruining our credit rating, is a reasonable price for the off-chance that they can blame Obama for their failures and get back into power.

    The truth is largely irrelavent. The single issue for Republicans is hatred toward Obama in order to win the next election. There is very little, if anything, that they do or say that is not part of that context.
    -
    That includes the Romney supporters on these boards. Even they don’t like Romney and they don’t care about his character flaws. They sure do hate Obama, though.
