   Outlawing alcoholic beverages has already been tried. Did it work? YES, it did work. Domestic abuse dropped. Real crime rates lowered. The problem was, too many people wanted their booze, so they claimed it didn’t work. The same thing would happen with outlawing guns.

    Blinding from amateur alcohol went up, violence in the streets went up. Cartels formed. It wasn’t successful at all. Even though nearly everyone wanted it it failed. The rest of the Drug War continues to fail. (Since 1914 and still going strong.)

    I’m guessing you mean there are more alcohol related traffic fatalities that gun deaths. States have been cracking down on DWI, with a large drop in drunk driving deaths.
    
    DWI laws have been so effective, that since 2010, there were more gun homicides than alcohol related fatalities. If we count gun suicides, it’s not even close.
