Deep Cover’s unique style of provocative political satire has won it a loyal following. Using an unusual mini-movie storytelling format, recovering lawyer Tim Eagan punctures pompous personalities, deflates bloviators, and attempts to shine light where it is most needed. This outrageous strip appears in mainstream and alternative West Coast papers and has been described as "Tom the Dancing Bug meets Ted Rall."

Yep, that seems pretty much what the NRA wants, except that the mother doesn’t have obvious heat on.

Does the NRA know they run some of the most violent shoot ‘em up games in the world? They have regular events where people shoot at ’human’ targets and zombie targets. Often times running through simulated assaults on buildings or defense of potions with real guns and live ammo. So they want you to believe that simulated video violence is bad but simulated violence in real life with real guns is OK

So, let me understand … you are saying it’s okay for some people to be trained to use firearms and how to kill people and assault buildings and set bombs, but it’s not okay for other people?
I mean, have the words, “Thank you for protecting our Freedom” ever come out of your mouth? Have you ever heard of this thing called the military, where tens of thousands of people every year are trained to do what you are describing in situations just like you describe?
Or are you just having the old sympathetic reflex of the patella and mouthing the latest line you heard on TV?
As long as this nation has guns (which will be a very, very long time, no matter how many Wal-Mart gift cards the LAPD hands out), and a professional standing army (ditto), it is probably better if gun owners know how to use them and better if the knowledge of how to use them does not reside solely in the hands of those who have gone through professional indoctrination.

^ Let’s not forget bank tellers, 7-11 clerks, gas station attendants, a kid wearing Jordan’s, etc. It’s idiotic and endless.

of the last three attacks none of them were taken out by a good man with guns but by a bad man with guns… themselves.

They would say that their scenarios are real and that the guns are real for a reason. It isn’t a play toy but a lethal device that needs morality and care to use it.

Most of the time they are suicide terrorists. They usually don’t have anything bad in their records either. Which means unless there is surveillance on them they will get away with it. When you don’t intend to survive it is very hard to stop you.

When your a kid running around playing Army, Cops and Robbers or Cowboy and Indians you at least socialize with other kids. Big difference.

I can think of a few case in Utah where a “good man with a gun” did keep a tragic event from getting worse. 1.Trolly Square an off duty police officer (who luckily had a concealed gun was able to return fire and keep the shooter cornered until help arrived. 2.Salt Lake City a man starts stabbing people in a parking lot and a guy with a concealed carry gun was able stop him and hold the guy until police arrived.

This strip should be renamed “Deeply Disturbed Cover” to reflect the nature of its author.

Lapierre had a perfectly workable solution to the problem of gun violence in schools. Just put in enough armed guards to handle the situation. I estimate the average school would require about 10 armed guards to cover all of the doors.
Where would we get the money to pay them? No problem, just tax each sale of weapons or ammunition enough to cover their salaries. That wouldn’t just cut down considerably on the sale of guns, it would be a big help in finding work for returning vets.
If you’re wondering if I’m serious or this is satire— frankly so am I.

License people to own fire arms. I mean police level training. Or can’t get it. Same as with driving.
