Deep Cover’s unique style of provocative political satire has won it a loyal following. Using an unusual mini-movie storytelling format, recovering lawyer Tim Eagan punctures pompous personalities, deflates bloviators, and attempts to shine light where it is most needed. This outrageous strip appears in mainstream and alternative West Coast papers and has been described as "Tom the Dancing Bug meets Ted Rall."

I once got a ticket for driving with an expired license and went to court whereupon I I declined to pay the exorbitant fine and was sentenced to 5 days in jail; when I reported to the jail they refused to book and incarcerate me because I did not have a valid license. Go figure.

I believe when you enlist in the military they check your ID. When you sign your life away to them they need to know who you are.

When I was drafted they checked everything, including some things that had never been checked before. None of it made any difference because you were going anyway.

When you sign up for the military they check your ID, when you volunteer they often do a background check which requires your ID, so get a copy of your social security card they require an ID, to get a copy of your driver’s license they require your social security card.(and if you have neither, the SS requires you to prove you are who with a notarized birth certificate—which you need an ID to get, trust me I was there it was frustrating) It is not a big deal to have to show my ID to vote or volunteer, or get into a movie(30 years ago).

Every time I have voted, I have had to show a government issued picture ID no matter what state. The first time I voted in SC I had a brand new Voter’s Registration card, I had to show a picture ID also because it was the first time I used it. (that was the reason given) That was in ’97.

poor and infirm people (dem voters) find it difficult to obtain what you find easy to obtain..screw you if you can’t be me, right?
poor and infirm people can just jump in their car and drive downtown and stand in line to get what was always theirs anyway. the right to vote.
voter fraud, indeed.

Sorry, but the poor and infirm need an ID to get their welfare benefits and had to have an ID to get social security benefits. So why not need one to show that you are the person registered to vote?

Anyone being told they can’t vote because they don’t have the right kind of ID should sue. The only people being victimized by these voter ID laws usually vote Democrat.

That was the whole plan in the first place. the republican mantra: lie and spin, shoot the fact-checkers; dis-enfranchise the individuals that historically vote against them; remove all controls over everything so the American taliban can run amok.

Nighthawks is right on; Lorie Moorhead is ignorant and mean spirited.

Not only did I not show my picture ID when I enlisted, I gave them a copy of my Birth Certificate and I know I have shown my ID to many a government official.

If the government wants you to have an ID to vote then the government has to provide some type of ID free to the people. Maybe we all need to carry our papers with us at all times

There has always been a problem with not enough people participating in our democracy by not voting. Now, all of a sudden the voter has become the enemy of the GOP and must be stopped. Corporations are people my friends and they don’t want you to vote!
Night-Gaunt49 said, 9 months ago
The problem aren’t ID’s which are valid, it is the new ID law that demands certain kinds of ID to keep the the poor, those of color and Democrats from voting.
