I am for the following changes in Washington:
2 No lawyers allowed to run for office – EVER!!
Term limited to six years and that’s it — PERIOD.
No lobbyists – EVER!
Anyone caught skimming off the public treasury is hung.
I’ll think of a few more things. D a m n rat’s nest!!!

separate all possibility of donations, contributions, buying dinner tickets from the practice of lobbying. Let the lobbyists go in and argue their case based on merit.
Dream on. Cause the Supreme Court is about to remove all limitations on corporate money. Corporations are more people than people. (borrowed from Steve Colbert)
People - limited to $2,500. Corporations - Unlimited. Now we know who the real people are in “of the people, by the people, for the people.”

I’m a lot less bothered by a $50 dinner than a yacht, like “Duke” Cunningham’s- oh right , no harm or foul, he was Republican!

The Roberts court is about to grant multinational corporations U.S. “personhood.” They will no longer need so many lobbyists because they will be able to buy all politicians directly and legally. They may even run for office. Thanks to George “W” Bush, someday, we might be saluting President GE or President Morgan Stanley.
We finally have the GOP goal in sight: government by the corporations, of the corporations, and for the corporations. If you look this up in the dictionary, you will find the name for this type of government. Hint: Italy tried this in the early part of the 20th century.

Duke Cunningham–wasn’t he a Navy “ace” pilot.

It could be the Democrat goal: government by Obama, of Obama and for Obama.

Only an idiot would look at this fantastic cartoon and blame Obama about the problem. Here’s your dunce cap.

After working for a lobbyist I can only assume there’s cash in those briefcases.

How much money has Obama gave to the banks and special interest groups? You can start with the stimulus package.
You can have you dunce cap back to wear while Obama is apologizing to other countries because America was once land of the free home of the brave.

Hello All
It is long past time for us to really make a Change in DC. Obama wants Change; we can give him Real Change we can believe in.
We can really set the Media on their heels. All we have to do is something we have never done before. My Friends, its time we have a 100% turnout for the 2010 Mid-Term Elections. Moat all States have Early Voting.
If we go to the polls and fire all 435 House Members along with all 36 Senators up for Reelection, then we will send a strong Message to DC, Obama, The News Media, Talk Radio, and the World.
Wake Up Friends! We have the Power of term Limits! Its called voting the rascals Out of Office. No more of this well X has been doing a good job for the past 16 years; we must keep X in office! NO! X has not done a good job. X only does a good job when it comes time for X to be reelected.
Will you please tell all to join the Tigger Train to fire all House Members and Senators up for reelection in 2010?
We need to remember what Smokey the Bear told us; “Only we can prevent Forest Fires” and apply it to this motto: “Only we have the power of Term Limits”
We need to continue this cycle until the year when we have all 435 House Members as well as all 100 Senators, and President up for reelection, this is also when we need to make history by firing all 535 Members of Congress and firing the Incumbent President and Vice President.
We need to send a Clear Message to DC, Obama, and the world, we need to let them know we’re mad and we’re not gona to take it anymore.
Hey, we need to send this clip to Obama!

What we need to end is Attack Politics – if someone is trying to get to you mad their reason is that they know if they get you mad they can get you to do something stupid.
With Attack Politics they never have to explain their policy or put forth a plan, all they have to do is attack and the media will report the attack and ask the other person to defend.
If you look through history you will find that America usually got better government then we deserved, that is no longer true, but now, sadly, we are probably getting the government we deserve.
Democracy is hard work, and the ones that have to work the hardest are we the voters. As long as we let them they will continue to sell us candiates like they sell us beer.
IF YOU ARE UPSET LET PEOPLE KNOW, BUT DON’T JUST SCREAM AND SHOUT – BE VERY CLEAR ABOUT YOU WANT.

striper, how much money has Obama given to the banks? None. The bank bailouts and funding were passed in Oct. 2008.

Believecommonsense,
According to MSN and WSJ Obama’s bank bailout plan is 750 billion dollars.
4uk4ata said, about 1 month ago
Striper, it’s not Obama’s plan. It was done under Bush. Remember this: http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/24/bush.bailout/index.html ?
striper77 said, about 1 month ago
The bank bailouts started under Bush, but continued under Obama. Obama has plans on bank bail outs up to 2010.
Since Obama is the President he could of stopped the ones under his watch. He has changed numerous other items that Bush has started.
Another item was the AIG bailout. Half was done under Bush and the other half under Obama. If it was so bad why did he not stop it?
Then you look at GM and Chrysler. How much money was given to them. Then they turned around and filled bankruptcy and gave the companies to the Unions. It was the Unions and mismanagement of money that got them in the situation in the first place.

wtfallnamestaken, that’s the question, isn’t it? Of course, it’s all for naught if we don’t get good regulation and enforcement out of it. And that may be where this ‘toon is coming from because the banking industry is desperately trying to prevent any regulation from happening.

striper, The law and funding from Congress for TARP occurred in Oct. 2008, with the bailout program developed by Hank Paulsen, Bush’s Treasury Secy. The TARP program was designed to release funds on a schedule. Obama has dispensed those funds according to the incremental schedule. He is following the law, as he should.
It is accurate to say the stimulus package, or Recovery Act, was Obama’s. It is not accurate to say the TARP program was Obama’s. Bush owns that one. Obama carried it out, as the next president was obligated to do, unless the law itself was reversed in Congress.
And lest we forget, the feds were giving GM emergency loans under Bush. Obama asked GM to develop a plan that would bring them to solvency without continuing the emergency loans. Failing to do so, GM went into bankruptcy with the US becoming majority stakeholder.
You and others may disagree with the president’s actions regarding GM, but it would have been irresponsible to continue giving it emergency loans just to operate.
