    The Church dictates that in charity I pray this for the soul of Teddy Kennedy. As an obedient son of the Church, I shall do so.

    I am merely pointing out in these pages that based on his life of opposing the teachings of the Church, which is the voice of God on earth, I hope he had a sincere repentance on his deathbed. If not, he may be in some deep trouble.

    May be. Do you understand what the words “may be” indicate?

    I am just tired of cartoonists acting as God and drawing cartoons that show anyone who dies automatically goes to Heaven, especially if it’s a liberal. Bet they didn’t do that when Ronnie Reagan died, did they?

    Look at how you Christian Absolutists have to mangle God’s Word and the inspiration of the greatest liberal, Jesus, in order to twist the truth into something ugly. The logs in your eyes will make it impossible to sit at the table of grace. Is there one among you who has not sinned against God and God’s creation. The way today’s Catholic Church bars people from the sacraments is an inspiration to the evil in your hearts.

    Jesus sat with sinners, thieves, whores, and women, instead of with the good church people of his time. He never held a fetus. He held sinners. He never condemned the lost. He forgave them. He loved the least, not the holy. If you people are examples of good church people, no wonder so many people aren’t interested in the Kingdom of God. Jesus would be so uncomfortable among you holy people.

    When I think about the hundreds of funerals and memorial services at which I have officiated, I can think of only one time when an attendee could not imagine a man being granted God’s mercy. She was his second wife!

    But you good church people would limit God’s grace for Ted Kennedy? I pray that your hard hearts will crack one day. Maybe then you’ll love the woman who cannot bear the fetus in her body. Maybe then you will have compassion of the people who have to use the ER because they have no money for insurance. Maybe then you will love the man who believes in the goodness in us being stronger that the evil which blinds us.

    The people lacking in grace and love, today, will be left out in the cold when their time comes. We’ll save you a place at the sinner’s table. But you will have to bend in order to join us!

Some of the main characteristics of liberal democracy are being composed of free and equal citizens capable of reasonable (i.e., moral) and rational judgment, and as a result of this first, plurality of comprehensive concepts. In basic terms, that means freedom of thought and conscience.

    kensburg, oddly enough, the definition you claim is liberal – “To me a liberal is someone who takes from those who work for a living, and give to those who don’t.” – sounds much more like a neocon.

    For the record, just as many of the hardworking stiffs I know are liberal as conservative.
