Sneaky. My first thought was “oh, another blowing-Pelosi-out-of-proportion cartoon,” then I realized who is doing the torturing – and evidently with a lot of practice…
Yes, we need to investigate everybody and forget all about the economy and how to get things back on pace… Fiddle on, Nero; it was all done without the knowledge or approval of even a single Democrat.
this is so, uh, remarkable … the right believes Bush and Cheney and Rummy acted legally and nothing they did was wrong, but they attack Pelosi because someone says there is a memo somewhere that claims she was specifically told waterboarding was used and she didn’t scream out about it and break the law in doing so. So she’s the villain in all this? Pelosi knew that Rep. Jane Harman, the responsible committee chair, did protest, in writing, confidentially, as legally required.
and the ridiculous hippo-crit party is demanding Pelosi release documents to prove she’s not lying but they don’t want any other documents released because they’re all classified
the hypocrisy of the Republicans on this issue (and many others) is truly beyond words
Actually it’s impossible for Pelosi to prove she didn’t lie. Since she’s told at least three different stories, each contradicting the other, at least two of them have to be lies.
Anybody who voted in favor of the Iraq war is complicit in what has taken place. It would have been considered political suicide to not sign onto the entire package, which included the Bush & Co. torture doctrine. Weasels, all.
kellykid, it’s apparently impossible to prove that Pelosi DID lie, too. And in this country, the burden of proof is on the accuser. As to different versions of the story – hello! this is Washington!
LOL at Horsey’s take on Boehner and Pelosi. And the diabolical elephant in leather garb. And the debate does meander on. Also, Fennec, good article by Brooks.
David Horsey has won two Pulitzer Prizes (in 2003 and 1999) for his editorial cartoons, along with numerous other accolades and awards. His work is syndicated to more than 250 newspapers across America.

C’mon, the Republicans obviously want a full investigation, so let’s do it!
I can’t wait to see where it leads!

But, but, but… They only want to investigate PELOSI, not anyone else!

See Frank… that’s the difference between wingnuts and dems. If there are dems guilty of this then we say prosecute them too.

It’s calculated distraction, bcs, trying to put the Dems on the defensive by attacking the House Speaker. Nice try.

The key word Ragsdale is approve. The worst thing you can say is that Nancy Pelosi approved of what the the Bushies were actually DOING.
If someone firebombs my house, I don’t go after the bystanders FIRST.

David Brooks commentary today on Cheney vs. Bush vs. Obama policies:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/22/opinion/22brooks.html?ref=global
You may be surprised at what he has to say.
BTW, the Horsey ‘toon of today in the SF Chronicle is something else…guaranteed to get the climate nuts going.

If that’s the case, then why are we using military to fight this enemy? That’s a pre-9/11 mindset, isn’t it?
