If you love paying other people’s bills so much, why don’t you go ahead and pay them out of your own pockets, instead of picking everybody else’s?

Socialism is bad because it is founded on theft.

“If you love paying other people’s bills so much, why don’t you go ahead and pay them out of your own pockets, instead of picking everybody else’s?”

We’re already doing that (in regards to health care) in the most inefficient way possible.

“Socialism is bad because it is founded on theft.”

Then, it’s a good thing no one is advocating socialism, isn’t it?

So people paying for the benefits that society provides is theft? Methinks richgrise wants others to pay for his goodies but he won’t acknowledge help from others. Kinda short sighted, IMHO.

Everyone build your own highways to anywhere you need to go. Build your own private hospital, send your OWN doctor through college for YOUR private use, build you OWN sewer system, yep, socialism and combining efforts so everyone pays a portion of the costs of our infrastructure and society certainly sucks. PRIVATIZE AIR - MAKE YOUR OWN! Or Rush and the boys will sell it to you.

I’m an American ex-Patriot living in Germany. The healthcare here is cheaper, more efficient, and better than in the US. Also no German has ever or will ever lose his savings and/or his house because of medical bills. No German has to ever steal to buy medicine. No German child misses a regular check-up or a vaccination because of the cost. To bad it’s socialist, because it’s really great.

“I second what richgrise says with a vengance!”

So, you like paying 15% GDP* and ranking 37th**? Why?

Um…richgrise, if you paid half the price and got twice the healthcare (which you would under a sensible plan), you are getting four times the value. That’s good capitalism, isn’t it?

Uhhh, rich…if we pass Universal Healthcare, I will be paying for it out of my own pocket.

The difference is that I will be paying less than I if I have no option but coverage by a private Health Insurance provider. So much less that it will more than make up for the tax increase

Not to mention the obvious, richgrise, but if you don’t want to use it, don’t. The proposed UHC plan is optional. I bet that if you decide to go with a more expensive private plan, you’d still get to claim the deduction of the premiums on your taxes. Which basically means that you wouldn’t be paying for anyone else’s neither nohow.
