We may not find out until mid-June, at last speculation from the www.MinnPost.com and Jay Weiner.
I was bored with it back in December, but it looks more honest than many many other races lately. Who’s counting those votes, and who’s watching them? Bev Harris over at www.BlackBoxVoting.com tells us it’s NOT us!

I am good enough I am smart enough and by gone it I can steal this election.
If he had a R next to his name you would never stop hearing the cry of he was not elected and so on.

The fate of a filibuster-proof majority…something that will alter the course of our nation…rests on…a former Saturday Night Live comedian.
Harley, pay attention. Franken can’t steal an election that he’s already won. Coleman is the only one in a position to steal it.

If it didn’t mean that they’d probably have to give up their shows, I’d be urging Jon Stewart and Tina Fey (rather than that Alaskan knock-off) to enter politics as well. All three are very funny, very SMART, and know how to tell unpleasant truths in a pleasing manner (rather than R. Reagan and W. Bush, who sold us pleasing lies, or R. Limbaugh, who doesn’t even bother to make his lies pleasing).

Sure Jon Stewart and Tina Fey are funny, smart? It does not take brains to read a teleprometr, just look at Prez bo. I mean come on Stewart had to shut down during the writers strike.

Anthony, He may have “won but only by flooding the ballot box and some underhand recounts. Kind of like what gore tried to do in Florida. I am not even going top mention the brain dead Acorn voters that put Obama in office that voted for Frankin also.
Just saying if it was an R instead of a D we would never hear the end of it! But I guess those Chicago style practices are accepted these days.

Oh and I don’t care if he has won or not I am just pointing out that If it was an R and not a D things would be different and more like Florida. Proof in the R trying to get me to be dignified and just shut up about it. If it was R and not a D I would have 3 egging me on for more.
I also say if it was not for the acorn driven brain dead voters that put O in Al would not have had a chance.
I never said he should not be seated.
So howie in light of that sure whatever just roll over and not speak of it again..right

More like Florida, Harley?
You mean where the Court handed it to the Republican without the recounts being completed?
If that standard was being applied to Franken, then Franken would already be in the Senate.
But Coleman has apparently decided that Bush shouldn’t have been given the presidency in 2000, and that in this case, the recounts should be done.
Republican hypocrisy at its finest.

So HQ/howgozit/spew where are the links to these stories about box stuffing, stealing etc? You can’t make sh!t up and expect it to fly. This recount was fair and supported by the courts (1/2 of the judges being Reps).

My comments still stands.
1)If it was an R instead of a D then there would be 3 times amount of hopelaw.
2) I do not care one way or another about courts. My comment about put or not put into office is about the idiots who voted in Obama also voted him in, so the courts say.
30 I say courts because I heard about was recount this not that recount this not that and such so on. what ever.

fritzoid said, 6 months ago
Fey and Stewart are not merely talented performers, they are both talented writers as well. Fey CREATED her show, and sets the tone for everything that happens on it. Likewise Stewart is intimately involved in the writing of The Daily Show. Haven’t you ever seen or heard Stewart going one-on-one with the Shouting Heads? Yeah, both shows have staffs of writers and researchers, and neither could survive without them, but they’re not simply reading lines. And for all of you guys’ comments about Obama’s fondness for the teleprompter, your hero Ronald Reagan was documented to have needed prepared cards to chat his way through a cocktail party!
Fey, Stewart, and Franken all wrote/write many of the lines associated with the characters they play/have played on TV. Their intelligence, wit, and perspicacity are well documented.

NoFear, that’s certainly a possibility. Let’s hope they show a little more backbone than I fear.
Simon_Jester said, 6 months ago
If that’s true sockpuppy, if THAT was the Republican plan all along…then why are they trying to block Franken from being seated in the first place? Why didn’t they say ‘let ‘em hem and haw’ back in November?
Sorry, but like a collander, your theory won’t hold water.

I’m just saying, in a world of second best choices, they could turn the table on radical Libs and give them complete unequivocal control over legislation, thereby highlighting that the second most hardest electorate to please is the Commie-Liberal Left (or are they the first?)…Satisfying those folks would all but insure Repulican success in 2010 and perhaps beyond. But by the same token the Republicans would have to fix it so nobody would guess that is what they are up to… ;^) No one’s going to set out to LOSE an election if they can help it.

motivemagus said, 6 months ago
NFP - love to see it, if there WERE any “radical libs.” That moniker is entirely the creation of the conservative talking heads and the GOP. There are no radicals in the US government. Calling a relatively business-friendly compromising centrist like Obama a “radical lib,” as some have here, is simply ludicrous.
The huge amounts of money required to get onto the national stage of our government has pretty well exterminated any chance of true radicals – the only place to get this level of money is generally in the hands of business, which is understandably hostile to radicals. That understanding is what got Clinton elected, and what ticked off so many Republicans about him: he did what they did and cozied up to business, and got great fundraising as a result.
Obama was unusual in that a convergence of issues and new fundraising methods gave him more of a grassroots base than most recent presidents, but at the core he is not in any way overturning our government, he’s simply using it as it has been used before, let us not forget. That was not a “radical” position in the past, and it isn’t now.
Simon_Jester said, 6 months ago
That’s not going to happen, Sockpuppy.
And let me tell you why.
Arlen Specter’s defection is only the latest in a series of fiascos by the Republican Party. You’ve got Michelle Bachmann spouting gibberish about Re-Education camps, the Republican governors who refused Stimulus package funds are all changing their minds, and the RNC chair is facing a revolt over party funds.
That ‘tea-party’ you guys threw two weeks ago has been completely forgotten by everyone, the ‘alternative budget’ Boehner unveiled has been widely dismissed as a joke, and the most visible face of the Republicans right now is one of the most despised men in the country, Dick Cheney.
You’ve Rick Perry and Chuck Norris talking secession for Texas, Newt Gingrich beating up on Sarah Palin, and everyone in the party kowtowing to Rush Limbaugh.
And if that’s not enough, look at what happened when John McCain, Jeb Bush, and Eric Cantor tried to launch that rebirth tour, designed to bring the moderates back into the Republican fold. Here came the neo-cons, with signs reading ‘RINOs Go Home.’
http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1895562,00.html
That’s what I have, Sockpuppy. All you neocons have is your conviction that Obama WILL fail…and that conviction is based on nothing more than anger and hatred.

Stew – nice of you to link to a couple of likewise unsubstantiated OPINION pieces to prove your unsubstantiated opinion.
The ‘liberal controlled canvasing board’ has two Republican appointees from the State Supreme Court who went 99% of the time in unanimous decisions with the other 3 members.
Despite the contention of your opinion pieces, there is no evidence that the ballots were double-counted. If there were actual evidence then the canvassing board and the 3-Judge Panel would likely have remedied the situation.
The transposed numbers were born out by the ballots and the number of registered voters.
Coleman wants to include rejected absentee ballots that he agreed shouldn’t be counted because the criteria he agreed to didn’t come out in his favor.

You’re right, Lalas, the existence of Michelle Bachmann does add some validity to Stewiez’s comments about Minnesotans being morons, though, at least the ones who voted for her. She’s unbelievable.
She recently claimed Franklin Roosevelt turned a recession into a depression through the “Hoot-Smalley” tariffs, ignorant of the fact that the “Smoot-Hawley” bill, co-authored by Republicans Sen. Reed Smoot of Utah and Rep. Willis Hawley of Oregon, and signed into law by Republican President Herbert Hoover.
And she said it interested her that the last swine flu outbreak occurred in Democrat Jimmy Carter’s presidency, when it was actually during Republican Ford’s.
One wonders if she’s really this stupid, or she just assumes anyone stupid enough to vote for her is likely to believe whatever lies she tells.
Given her other beliefs, I fear it’s the former.
